Johnny Damon homers again! Even bigger than the first one!
Who's Javier's daddy? :p
8-1 Sox
the Yanks are crazy to be pitching to Ortiz at this point
who got a better deal with the pitchers acquired this year?
Red Sox - Schilling and Foulke
Yankees - Brown and Vasquez
:p |

Like we said in the other thread. If the Sox pull this one off, CO-MVP's: David Ortiz and Keith Foulke. I seriously doubt it will happen, but Foulke would deserve just as much credit for the Sox making it to the WS as Ortiz would get. For without Foulke, Ortiz likely wouldn't have gotten a chance to get those hits. Foulke pitched so well in all those 3 of those games... if he comes in tonight, he HAS to get co-MVP. |

how long can Lowe go with the 1-hitter?
quite a performance on 2 days rest
maybe they should bring in Pedro to close it out...
but there's still a ways to go
and lots could happen |

| Murphy's Law seems to be in effect for the Yanks tonight |

Honestly, I think they should stay away from Pedro unless they really need him. But yeah, Lowe has been fabulous so far tonight. Ground ball after ground ball after ground ball. And Damon chose a good time to break out of it, just like Bellhorn.
If it comes down to it, I'd use Foulke again in the ninth with Wake and Pedro warming up, just in case. |

Maybe Francona wants Pedro to have the feeling of beating the Yankees
He should be ok for 100 pitches, unless the Yanks can figure him out right away |

I guess so. But I DEFINITELY would've let Lowe out there one more inning. If he wanted Pedro in that badly, the 8th and 9th would've been good enough, especially with the way Lowe was pitching. 6 more outs... Let's see what happens. |

another homer by Bellhorn!
but bringing Pedro in didn't seem to work too well
he was throwing some serious heat, but I think it would've been better if he didn't go for just fastballs - should've mixed it up like he did against the Angels |

He did, he threw a NASTY breaking ball to Cairo. But he was definitely throwing heat. Maybe he had an epihony and will be back to the old Pedro. 95 - 97 MPH. Haha... one could hope. And I'm not just saying that cause he's on the Red Sox. I just love dominating pitchers like that. Where every start is a potential gem... like Santana is going to be. |
