| When it comes to the playoffs, Bernie has a monster edge on Damon - I believe Bernie leads ML history with RBI's in the playoffs. |

Yeah, but I got the tix 4 hours before the game...so I took whatever they offered me.
I have sat in the RF bleachers before:
* The game when Piazza crushed a grand slam of Clemens in 2000 - saw a fight and heard really interesting chants
* The game in 2001 where Leiter and Mussina had a pitching duel until Piazza scored the game's only run off Mariano
* This year against the Red Sox when the ball went through Ortiz's leg. That was fun :-) 'Billy Buckner!' /clap /clap, /clap /clap /clap |

The question was "Who would you rather have in CF or LF?" |

Well, if I were in a billion playoff games, I'd lead in RBI's too. That's not the point. |

cmon you seriously looking at Godzilla getting the axe? I think Bernie knows CF like the back of his hand...I'm almost positive Beltran would have to produce and fit right at home inorder to take out Sheff or Godzilla. Although I'd love my outfield to consist of Zilla, Sheff, Bernie, and Beltran. Now what a rotation would that be for sheff, zilla, bernie, beltran, and sierra to be "eligible" to swing from DH. And at the same rate have 4 solid field players to rotate between 3 outfield positions. Giambi comes back and rotates with Olly at donny's corner. the only hole will be cairo, but like any average player playing for the pinstripes, their game will naturally rise with the talent that he is around. I still love Jorge behind the plate and the pitching staff needs 1-2 15game winning starters....muhaha the evil empire...
Look at the nucleus the pinstripes are reknown for...
Jeter, A-Rod, Bernie, Jorge, Sheff, and Zilla.
Solid bats if you ask me and decent gloves. You bring Giambi back and acquire Beltran plus 1-2starters and they are sitting really strong.
I like Lieber, Moose, and the dukey hurling. Maybe 1 more starter and a solid middle relief pitcher. Tanyon Gordon and a dominant 4inning middle reliever would solidify the yankee rotation and bullpen. |

Things always work out better on paper but usually what happens is that some punches a wall, Giambi does steroids and gets a benign tumor, some guy underperforms, etc.
Bernie has a huge hit last night so I really shouldn't talk, but I do think he's nearing the end and if it came down to him versus Carlos Beltran, I have to go with Carlos. He's absolutely tore up Atlanta.
We all know the Yanks need to get more starting pitchers!! Carl Pavano is the big name but I read that he's not looking to go to New York. I'll pass on Pedro.
Mostly, they need to build that farm system up. I would take Randy Johnson though but I don't see that happening since they have nobody to trade. |

We finally agree on something, WOW! Bernie actually has the most homers and RBI's in post season history and Jeter has the most hits. But they play an extra round nowadays compared to Mantle, Mays, etc. They play way more games so it's not a fair comparison. At least that shows they are always on winning teams though. |
