Im surprised no one sees the money being made behind this series. It just doesnt make sense to me that the Yankees could tank the Sox the first 3 so easily, than all of a sudden not be able to hit anything. I really am thinking this is rigged.

That's the dumbest thing I've heard. Rigged by who? It's not like they're all out there making errors or playing sloppy baseball.

well ill give boston credit for comming back they deserved this win tonight schilling was on and so was lieber he just had 1 bad inning
the one thing i did not understand was the thing with arod and how he knocked the ball out of aroyyos hand, ok arod was out but why did jeter have to come back to 1st?
he would have been on second easily that really made no sense to me
well its come down to game 7 the grand finale and like i said in my original post if boston cant beat the yanks in 6 games then the yanks will beat them in game 7, this is that way its supposed to go down this is the way the bambino wants it lol
1918!!!!!!! lets go yankees

because a rod made a dirty play and jeter should not benefit by getting second base because of it. they just interviewed the umps on tv and in the supplimental rule book is says that the runner that is on base must return to the base they occupied when the interferrence occured.

I know Fox is making mucho bucks off of this. But it is NOT easy to rig a baseball series in 2004. It was in 1919, but not now. Too many ego's involved. They're all making millions of dollars anyway. So unless they're getting 10 million or something a game, no one's throwing anything. If these players are SO good that they can throw a game and not even look like they're throwing it, then they should be actors, not ball players. When teams like the White Sox in 1919 (who many consider the best team in baseball history) lose the WS to a team that EVERYONE knew they could beat, great pitchers suddenly SUCK, young pitchers pitch fantastic, great hitters cant hit anything, great fielders make error after error...

 That's the last I talk about this ridiculous topic.

***MORNING REVIEW OF GAME 6***

Well I called it, this series was definitely going 7. I am not surprised at all. This is WONDERFUL for baseball. Yes I live and die by my Yankees but I tip my hat to the Sox for last night's game and no schilling is not my daddy. Great game played by both teams. Schilling was FANTASTIC! Great control, great zip on his fastball, had the Yankee bats off stride.

It's easy to say that the Yankee's just aren't hitting well. This is true, alot of first pitch swinging, very aggressive at the plate being down 4 runs. Lets go back to the basics. When you are down runs you usually take the first strike. From the 6th inning on, the yankees were swinging at 1-0, 1-1 counts and taking 2-1, 3-1(except for bernie). When you are down runs you must play fundamental baseball. Schilling was pitching great and the yankee's were making him look even better by chasing him.

Lieber, great game again! Wonderful pitching except Bellhorn's cinderella homerun ala Boone just not in the bottom of the inning and in the middle of the game. New York has had their fairshare of avg players shining in the moment. Boston has their's, Schilling eating up game 6 and Bellhorn showing the world why he's playing the 2base spot and not Pokey.

So onto tonight's matchup. Lowe vs Brown. Who in the Yankee Pen can throw? Who in the Sox Pen can throw? I'd say Sturtze, and Quantrill definitely not throwing tonight. Heredia to get Ortiz out and The Duke, Vasquez, and Loaiza to hold the pen. Gordon and Mo can give you the late inning heat (provided they both don't choke!).

Now the Sox and how deep their pen will be tonight. Embree, Timlin, Mendoza, Meyers, and possibly Foulke to close it out. If Lowe can get the Sox into the 5th safely, they'll have a solid chance of writing the ultimate comeback in MLB.

Yankee Hitting - one word - TY. These guys don't know what they are doing up there. Matsui, Posada I dont even want to see in the line up. Clarke? Why is he even playing. I'd even dress up Giambi and have him stand there at the plate. Sierra is swinging like a madman who hasn't connected with a baseball in years. Solutions for this? Tonight the Yankees have to do what they always have done. Hit wisely. Be patient and wait for the count to be in their favor. These guys are hacking away at 1-0, 0-1, 1-1 pitches like they have figured out what he's gonna throw already? And their all popup's or seeing eyegroundballs. They need to sit back wait for their pitch and play run by run. Manufacture solid runs and establish a decent lead early in the game.

All in all - what a headache...cmon yank's pull it together...

As sinker ball pitchers get tired arms, their sinkers actually have more sink to them. That's a possible reason for Lowe I would imagine. The other being that Wakefield is very comfortable to pitch out of the bullpen. Thirdly, I don't think Francona wants to sit Varitek for game 7 and would have to with Wakefield.

If the Red Sox beat the Yankees and then lose the World Series.... is the curse over? Even though it would be the biggest choke in the history of sports for the Yankees!!

Kevin Brown or Javier Vasquez? None too appetizing for me. Hey El Duque, how's your arm feeling? Pitching game 7 is nothing for him, not like escaping from Cuba on a raft (errr I mean yacht).

A-Rod's move was embarrassing. Be more clutch dude!

I did say Yanks in 7 before the series started but my predictions are absolutely meaningless because they suck.

Tough to see the Yankees winning... Red Sox win 5-1

(reverse luck????)

that isn't 100% true. Sinker ball pitchers with tired arms dont necessarily throw a more effective sinker. What happens when your arm is tired is that you over compensate with the rest of your body. pushing with the legs more, dragging your arm, your release point is higher meaning your ball will be up. Given the Yanks are hitting so good I wouldn't be surprised that it will effective on them. Then again, if the Yanks feel the Babe in them, they might be teeing up high sinkers. for those who don't know a high sinker starts at the letters and ends knee high. Inside or out it doesn't matter its like the ball just dropping into your hitting zone versus dropping OUT of the hitting zone when it is most effective. We will see what tonight will bring...as I might be receiving tickets to tonights game...the only question is to scalp them or go in high spirits. if the yanks win they will go all the way. if they lose the astro's will take the WS.

Honestly Brian, being a die-hard yankees fan and naive is two different things. If the redsox beat the yankees, why aren't they capable of beating the astros? You say that if the yankees win, they'd win it all? But if the redsox beat the yankees, doesn't that mean we could beat the astros? Your logic makes no sense. I'm a huge redsox fan, we've simply outplayed you the past 3 nights. We want it more than you do. Yankees are not getting the timely, clutch hits you were getting the first 3 games and let's face it, yankee pitching is worn out and Boston is finally scoring runs. It has been a great series and if the yankees do lose, what makes you think we can't take it? The redsox just want it more, plain and simple.
