I dont understand why Israel is crying that Iran & Syria provided the weapons used against them. The weapons are not very high tech since the Lebanese resorted to sending an un-manned aircraft filled with explosives to attack ships. Also the IDF is crying, but they have the best weapons in the world provided to them by the USA while the USA is visiting Syria. |
It's politricks man. Israel's trying to be an angel by justifying their doings because "Iran and Syria are supporting Hizbullah". While the whole world recognizes it otherwise looking at what has happened in the past couple of days.
And @ Malek : Just pray to Allah, God, Bhagwaan, Budha, Jesus or whoever it is that you believe in that Israel doesn't attack Syria - Like I said it would downright NASTY. |

jonSun,
I won't refer to the "crying", but does it matter if the weapon is an old ak47 or a newly developed rocket? It can still harm people...
hardcore trancer,
PLEASE, try to keep the "KILL THEM ALL FILTHY ZIONISTS" to a minimum. As far as I can see you live far, far away from all this mess, were you personally harmed by the whole conflict? (Asking seriously, wants to know if it's more than just a side you chose to take). I can accept different opinions and thoughts, but please, again, keep the "KILL THEM ALL" mantra to a minimum. |

I think many dont realize the serious consequences that will have around the world if Iran or syria get attacked. |

As much as I despise the IDF, I doubt they're targeting civilians purposefully (although some may disagree with me and probably be able to put up a robust argument) as there is no strategic benefit to that whatsoever -- quite the contrary of course. In other words, the killing of civilians isn't part of their strategy. Bluntly, they're ing up, and big time. And if they keep on ing up, the reverse effect that you mentioned may indeed occur. |
It's bound to be a common occurance when there is so much vehemence between these countries and many members of the IDF know that they can get away with killing civilians without so much as a slap on the wrist after a "kangaroo court" investigation by their military tribunal. :( |

He says that he does not believe in a god, but he refers to the Jews as Zionists?? |

Syria has nothing, its army is prehistoric. All they can do is sit and get bombarded. |

I don't disagree at all with your analysis, but my "strategic" comment referred more so to the negative public opinion that is usually garnered when civilians are killed (especially at this alarming rate), which is usually to be avoided as much as possible. This applies at the international level of course, where foreign nations are quick to condemn loss of innocent life and usually attempt to pressure the guilty party into ceasing their actions, and in this case, at the Lebanese level. The latter is critically important in my opinion from an Israeli perspective, as Israel wants to harden anti-Hizballah rhetoric within Lebanese circles that are either already opposed to them (even more so than before), or ambivalent and undecided. Keeping civilian casualties at a minimum therefore serves to strengthen the anti-Hizballah hand, while a mounting civilian death toll clearly weakens it. |

Who do you think would best be able to see religious fundamental crazies for what they are?
How exactly are you trying to discredit his statement by pointing out a completely unrelated matter - his personal beliefs?
Last I checked, I could believe that there is a ing giant duck in the sky, and it wouldn't make a lick of difference regarding how fundamentalist crazies in the middle-east on both sides use their twisted and piss-poor religions to wage moral wars. |

I am not trying to discredit him, its the fact that I can point out anything I ing want to, if I was to say that he likes to wear pink thongs and a baby gap t-shirt, then I can.... by saying so, it does not try to discredit him, it just gives food for thought... on his public stated opinions...."KILL THEM ALL FILTHY ZIONISTS"
is that ok with you??? or do you think his "KILL THEM ALL FILTHY ZIONISTS" statement needs not to be discredited? |

yeah, its an interesting and miserable line theyre walking there. as i understand it there is definitely a measurable anti-hezbollah sentiment within the country & government, but i dont see how bombing the country back 20 years is going to weaken the organisation.
more likely, it will increase hezbollah's hold on the nation, in the sense that a government will be weakened by these tactics more so than a guerilla outfit. its not hezbollah's bridges or airports theyre bombing after all. and you dont need to experience mounting civilian deaths to forsee this action can and will swell hezbollah's ranks.
at the end of the day, regardless of fault, its a terribly sad state of affairs and we're gonna get to watch the UN parade its lack of significance yet again. |
