Unfortunately, most of the world is blind to this notion, and blind to the conflict that has existed in this region for thousands of years.
Unlike the U.S.'s war in Iraq, Israel is fighting for its existence; if it gives up now and commits to a ceasefire it shows weakness on Israel's part, allowing for the neighboring nations led by fundamentalist Muslims to push it around even more. Israel is doing to Hezbollah what the U.S. did to Taliban when 9/11 occurred. Sure there have been civilian casualities, but do you know of ANY recent war, with the technology that exists, where civilians weren't hurt? It's a price to pay, and it's unfortunate Hizballah launches its attacks from areas where there are large civilian populations, even though leaflets were dropped prior to the attacks warning them. Israel changed its battle plans to include more ground troops and less aerial attacks because of this, and it acknowledges the loss of life is tragic. You can't say that for Hizballah, Hamas, or any other terrorist organization that wishes for the destruction of Israel. This is not a war to show the prowess of Israel, this is a war for its survival. |
You my friend are an and you as a jew prove my point that you never forget events that happened thousands of years ago. You think it is right for Israel to killl thousands of civilians just because they lost two soldiers?
You see this is what happens like the kid who gets bullied at school most won't ever stand up for themselfs but the ones who do normally hit the bully once. After that hit the bully learns his lesson and stops bothering them. Israel on the other hand when they get hit once they retailiate every time and they cause serious damage when they retaliate. Not like the terrorists who can't even get close enough to cause serious damage.
What I hate the most is that Israel uses American made weapons untop of that we fund them. |

Well it's kind of hard to forget events that dwindle your ethnic or religious group's population down to just a mere 15 million in the world now. I don't know what religion you are but certainly no religion has gone through persecution like the Jews have, to the point where their planned extermination was accepted by so many based on false beliefs.
So if Israel is not supposed to retaliate according to your theories, what do you think is supposed to happen? You think a bully stops pushing someone around when that person does not respond? No, he fights harder. The only thing that will stop these terrorist groups in the Middle East is aggression, since we all know diplomacy with them is not an option. |

I am a catholic. That religion was exposed to us by the Spaniards.
Israel shouldn't be doing little strikes like it does. I was saying if they are going to fight make one bloddy blow not little attacks. Like in the playground do you think the bully will come back after he had his lip broken or a bloody nose and after all that he was embarrased by a little squirt who normally doesn't defend himself. |

The Wall Street Journal had a brilliant article as to how to find an antisemite by asking about current situation in Israel/Lebanon. Shame I don't have access to it but not that it would make any difference. You closet antisemites know who you are - but it seems that you've been conditioned to hide behind biased media articles and completely rediculous notions and opinions of various talking heads without even giving it much thought. And why should you when your widely held hate can now be openly expressed.
Every time Israel defends itself, all these antisemites crawl out from their hiding places like roaches, hiding behind absurd excuses and restrained mostly by law and bottom-line savvy executives at media headquarters. Given complete and unobstructed freedom, these closet biggots would take to torches, guns, rocks, and anything else that can hurt and kill and go after their long lusted target.
Some of you here have shown your faces for what they trully are - coward closet biggots, afraid of stating the ovious thought that is on your mind most of the time - that's your deep-nestled hate for Jews. The hate that was absorbed with your mother's milk and your upbringing. Wolf can't help but be a predator. Neither can you help being antisemites. But it's good to know who you are - so we can keep you as far away from us as possible.

I couldn't help but laugh, great post brother :) Seriously metalgearsolid, you should take a lesson from whoever said "he who forgets history is doomed to repeat it." It's because people like you choose to deny that these events occurred and attempt to forget them that the anti-Semitism continues to this day. I wouldn't forgive and forget if a group killed off half of my family, unprovoked, because of their religion, would you? |

Also just to add, this right now is the "bloody blow" as you call it, hence why Israel is not and WILL not ceasefire until Hizballah is destroyed and/or no longer an influence in Lebanese government. |

I don't attempt to forget. If we bother reading the testament and the wars by Judea forces you will see that they were more than capable of protecting themselves against a larger force.
That is good that you hold onto the past, I do too. But I do not let it become an obession for violence against anyone. I have told you what I believe and that is that Israle must quit ing around and deliver the final blow. And they must quit being ing pussies there will not be a WMD used and if anybody used an WMD I'am absolutely certain that would mark the end of the world, and all life on it.
And you want to be a little bitch about discrimination? How about being ing targeted by mall security or police just for the color of your skin? Do you get that? And for the record, Israel does not attack unless it is provoked, which in this case it was. Israel is only capable of defending itself so long as it does have the weapons.
