you bring up a good point venom, but i was more refering to the hostility that some members were showing each other. the racist comments and such dont benefit the discussion and frankly discredit what they're trying to say entirely.
at some point, hopefully soon, one side needs to back down and end the sensless violence. but i do see the point as to why israel is sticking to their guns on this. in order to stop the extreemist activity they have to take a hardline at some point. if they were to just bend to the hizbollah's demands to get the two soldiers back, how long would it have been before they kidnapped more soldiers?
I do understand that when fighting a guerilla style enemie that doesnt conform to the standard combattant image of a uniform, structured ranks etc, but i think israel needs to take more restraint and not make the same mistakes the americans have made in iraq. Too many iraqis have been killed because of "bad intelligence"......
Jesus was a carpenter, and the carpenter saying is "measure twice cut once" |
Agreed, i already had my rant about those 'racist' elements in this thread :wtf: But yeah, i think all major points have been hit in this thread more or less, now its a matter of seeing how the conflict develops i think. |

IDF has been doing the same to the poor palestinians for years and nothing has been done about it.you are getting a taste of your own medicine.ENJOY IT. |
finally a relevant post by you.
you didnt get my point. i meant that Hezbollah is operating within populated areas (hence, taking IAF attacks there), lebanese citizens getting hurt is unfortunatelly inevitable. same thing happens within Gaza and other palestinian cities. |

But then wouldnt the ridiculously high rates of civilian casualties on the other sides that israel is used to fighting merit a different style of waging war at least? Or even *gasp* another form of conflict resolution, like sanctions from israels partners, or like dragging the G8 into this? I dont know, from what i gather in this thread the IDF is notorious for civilian casualties. Of course it is because of the strategies of their enemies but still, its a bit excesive no? |

| just saw it on the news (channel 10 in Israel) - one of the reporters said that Hezbollah are blocking roads to prevent from civilians to run to the north from the south. he also said that civilians are trying to prevent from Hezbollah militants to fire misslies. |

Ok, i'm not on either side as i am not israeli and i am not palestinian or lebanese...however, i do share something with all of you...i'm Human!
But some of you are forgetting this, we all breath the same air, we all feel love, anger and sadness.
So why are some people coming out with these disgusting comments! We're all human...just try to view things from the otherside, think what those who dont share you're beliefs are going through.
If you still wish to make disgusting comments, then i really feel sorry for the extensively restricted life you will live. |

Thumbs up for the civilians! At least they are starting to get involved and taking responsibility. |

dude go learn some history before making a fool out of yourself.
the "millions" (there never were "millions") of jews immigrated from europe because they suffered in europe.
at that time (end of 19th century, beginning of 20th century) there was a massive immigration wave from eastern europe to the rest of the world. aprox. 20,000 jews from that 'wave' decided to immigrate to Israel, to settle along side the other jews who lived here.
at that time the Ottoman Empire ruled this region and allowed the immigration of the jews (yet with many prohibitions) like many other countries which allowed immigration. the jewish people who came bought the lands they settled on, and the arabs couldn't care less.
later, before and during ww1, aprox. 10,000 jews immigrated here. after the war, the Ottoman Empire was defeated, so all of its territories were given to Britain and France. so in 1922 the League of Nations passed the Palestine Mandate, which among other things was an obligation to the Balfour Declaration - an establishment of a jewish national home in these lands.
so time goes by...and at some point the british got sick of the problems they've had here (fights between jews and arabs mainly, which most of them the arabs initiated - 1920, 1921, 1929, 1936-1939). so they turn to the UN to decide what to do with this region. the UN decides to end the British mandate, and to divide it into a jewish state and an arab state. the jewish leadership accepted the decision, the arab leadership didn't.
in the end of the last day of the british mandate, Israel declared its independence. then, the arabs decided to strike the jewish state (Israel), with help from other countries (Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon etc.)
the war ends, we win, and the borders of that same jewish state (called Israel) were expanded.
later there were some other wars between Israel and the arabs, so the Israeli borders expanded some more after each war.
and by the way, there was no 'country' prior to the state of Israel in this exact region (the Ottomans ruled it, but it was a part of their empire). |
wow um. man.. that's your very skewed take on history man.. clearly you've omitted topics such as jewish extremist terrorism.. and other very very very very very very important issues and events which occurred in this time period. I don't even know what to say.. there are entire books written on this period (such as http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/01...1376600?ie=UTF8) I really am not surprised at your account however. You are allowed to give it. I'm just here to warn people that your account isn't exactly the most objective. I'm not going to try correcting your statements and filling the gaps as it's close to impossible. So, for those of you out there interested in the conflict, please do your own research of events which occurred. |

| The jewish race is an inferior race because it has inferiorites in it that other races do not such as entreprenuership and genius IQ that no other race can equal. Its why they are running the world and we other people of the lower races are serfs to them. |
