Probably when our very own worthless Jimmy Carter got elected POTUS. What a horrible experiment that turned out to be.

Obama isn't speaking to people like you because you won't listen anyway. Nobody really gives a about the South because it's always going to go Republican anyway. Elections are not lost or won there so you can keep on harping all you want. Americans are as regionalised as Canadians are...you just don't realise it.

Thanks for perpetuating the elitist/arrogant label. What a horrible approach to politics and trying to win people over with your message. Just preach to the people that bow at the alter of your greatness. You suck.

I'm so tired of this "inexperience" . He was a State senator for almost a decade, served a term as a federal senator, was a Harvard constitutional law professor, has travelled the world extensively and worked in politics at the GRASS ROOTS level (with REAL people, not a bunch of rich lobbyist groups) and you call him inexperienced?

So is my cousin. So what are his actual accomplishments?

But McCain got shot down in Vietnam and was a POW for 4 years! MY GOD HE MUST BE PRESIDENT because he served his country!

Great straw man. Is that what I said? Did I say anything about McCain's POW status being qualification for President, or is that just the argument you're going to project on me because you got your panties up your because I said I didn't support BO? I've never been a huge McCain advocate, but since I must choose someone to vote for, I am supporting McCain because I think there's a greater chance that he will support conservative philosophies that I happen to believe in and adhere to. If I had a better choice, I'd happily consider it, but BO is not that choice for me. Thank goodness for my freedom to choose and not be bullied by people like you that think you're so god damned smart because you're pursuing a graduate degree but haven't ever had to work a 60 hour week to support a family and make a better life for yourself. Kumbaya.

Not to mention the fact that he has basically sold himself out to win the base of the Republican party, he's 72 years old and looks half alive and has picked a ing nutjob for his VP.

When his mom croaks I'll start to worry more about his own longevity. It's amazing, isn't it? I'm liking this Palin woman more and more each day.

quote:
You'd rather let her possibly become President as opposed to Obama/Biden? Give me a break dude.

As it stands today, yes.

As it stands today, BO stands a very real and positive chance of winning this election, and if he does, that is the way it will be. However, if he does not, 1) the allegations of cheating and screaming and crying from people like you will be as loud as ever and 2) there will be some real gold nuggets in some of these political threads that will keep me laughing my ass off for days on end.

seven years to be exact and voted in such a way to be as inoccuous as the janitor that cleaned up the floor after every session. how is that serving your constituents?

in effect for two years.

yes to Indonesia as a child and to Africa to take pictures of his roots.

getting picked to sit on leftist charitable funding boards doling out millions to like-minded "educational" causes with little to no improvement to public education.

for POTUS, by all quantitative (except the Constitution), qualitative and historical standards, yes. anything else no one would really give a damn. he would just become another Junior Senator

so you're telling me that the South and Midwest is the key to Obama's victory? Wow dude look at the ing electoral map. Obama knows he's not going to carry Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, etc, etc...let me list some of the things going against him. Um...he's BLACK (and if you think that doesn't play an issue, then I'll stop debating with you right now) and the Democrats do not register with the largely uneducated, religious and rural populations of the southern and mid western states. What I'm saying about regionalisation is actually true, whether you'll admit it or not. Do you think Obama is really going to waste his time campaigning in Texas? Do you think McCain will waste a lot of his time in New York? Wake up dude.

His accomplishments as an Illinois state and federal senator have been well documented in this very thread. You just choose to ignore what's been made available.

How do you know he hasn't published any paper of "significance"? Define that term anyway. I'm an historian and I've published two papers, plus my MA thesis. Whether or not they are "significant" is debatable but I have contributed to the field just like everyone else. The fact that you're suggesting that Obama accomplished little in being a HARVARD PROFESSOR is beyond ridiculous.

how is she real?

Because she's a bible thumper, has five kids, is a hockey mom and sold the state plane on ing EBAY?

You're exactly the kind of guy who would have voted for George Bush because "you could have a beer with him" or for Harper because he's a "good family man" like those recent ads so nauseatingly suggest.

Elections should NOT be about personalities. They should be about issues and so far, McCain-Palin are on their way to a massive failure in that area and it will reflect in the election results.
