lol look at this idiot. for your information she las lowered the standard for the vp debate. just because she is a woman, so that means your boy biden has to go easy on her, if not he is going to be portrayed as a bully. so biden really has to be calm and controll his mouth, for once in his life. |
That is the most idiotic thing i have ever heard.
Why should he dumb down his debate to suit her. lol jesus
If she wants to sit up there and do a lot of errr's and ummmms
sobeit.
McCain should have asked Hilary to be his VP.
that woulda made the world |

| Everybody calm the down. This woman was completely unknown to probably 99% of this board 6 hours ago and suddenly everybody is an expert on her. Please. I'm curious to see how she is vetted. Gauging by the overconfident and dismissive calls from some before we've even had a chance to get to know the candidate I'm guessing there's more fear and uncertainty than ever. McCain just threw a huge curveball, IMO. Let's see how it plays out. |

Guys...It doesn't matter how she does in the debates. It doesnt even matter how Mccain does. She is a WOMAN and she will be one heartbeat away from the Presidency. This is a very powerful idea, and like it or not..MILLIONS of uninformed ladies out there are going to get out in droves just to vote for her. Even if they loathe Mccain, they will still vote for him..hoping to see him win because of the symbolism of having a woman in such a high office for the first time ever..
This was a brilliant political move by Mccain. I wouldn't be surprised if he picks up 40%+ of former Hillary supporters along with 90% of the "undecided" women voters out there. He's going to take this election in a landslide because of Palin. |

| quote: | Palin Pick Undermines Inexperience Argument
By: Cernig on Friday, August 29th, 2008 at 9:45 AM - PDT John McCain has picked Alaskan governor Sarah Palin as his running mate - which at least is interesting. But how is he going to justify attacking Obama on his inexperience now? Palin, if McCain wins, would be the VP to a 72 year old man with a medical history of four different cancer battles. The chances of her becoming President would, I have to say, be rather higher than those of Joe Biden. There’s nothing at all in Palin’s record to suggest she has the experience to run America or to be Commander in Chief.
She’s not even sure what the VP does (h/t Kos)
In an interview just a month ago, she dissed the job, saying it didn’t seem “productive.”
… Larry Kudlow of CNBC’s “Kudlow & Co.” asked her about the possibility of becoming McCain’s ticket mate.
Palin replied: “As for that VP talk all the time, I’ll tell you, I still can’t answer that question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that the VP does every day? I’m used to being very productive and working real hard in an administration. We want to make sure that that VP slot would be a fruitful type of position, especially for Alaskans and for the things that we’re trying to accomplish up here for the rest of the U.S., before I can even start addressing that question.”
She’ll keep a lot of the base happy. She prefers oil to polar bears, is pro-life in a way that practices what she preaches (I can respect that even while disagreeing) and is a lifelong member of the NRA. She’s cozy with Big Oil. [..]
She’s sorta McCain’s ultra-conservative version of Obama. She’s Change he can tout against Obama’s. Maybe not so much change Alaskans fully believe in, though - her share of the vote dropped by 7.6% in 2006.
But she also has a couple of problems for the base. She’s been very “nanny-state” in some of her dealings in Alaska, especially a failed attempt to keep a big Alaskan state-owned dairy open after it became hopelessly uncompetitive and her insistence on raising the State’s share of oil revenues as a form of windfall tax then passing it on to citizens in windfall payments. Now, where have I heard that idea recently?
Then there’s the scandal involving her firing Commissioner of Public Safety because he refused to fire a State Trooper who is involved in a custody battle with her sister. Hmmm. We’ll see if more on that appears now that she’s in the national limelight. However, a cop who allegedly beats his wife isn’t a sympathetic figure unless its to the more hardcore misogynist GOPers.
And lastly - what is it about McCain and ex-beauty queens? She was runner up in the ‘84 Miss Alaska contest. Watch out, Cindy - you know from experience your man has a wandering eye.

You obviously don't watch c-span much. I was watching last night and this morning during the call-in periods.. There were quite a few women calling in on the democratic line saying how disappointed they were that Hillary didn't get the nomination and that Obama didn't pick Hillary for VP, and that because of this they were leaning towards Mccain. And this was BEFORE he chose Palin as VP!! I was screaming "WTF YOU DUMB BITCH...Mccain is 100% opposite of Hillary on most issues...How the f**k can you consider him just because your girl Hillary didn't get the nomination?? But the issues don't matter...Logic doesn't matter.. People are IGNORANT, and they care more about what makes them "feel" good than anything else...and regardless of what the political pundits say, many women are going to feel VERY good about making a woman the vice president...especially with a decrepit 72 year old man who has had near fatal cancer 3 times as President.. |

You are a ing idiot.... really... a ing idiot
Obama's Illinois Senate seat represented over 200,000 people, and helped craft legislation for a state of 12.5 million.
Obama: Editor in chief of the Harvard Law Review
Palin: Assistant sports page editor for the University of Idaho Argonaut. Mayor if a town of what 6000 people?? Oh yeah and that PTA membership and ex beauty queen....
and no doubt this will be the secretary of state:

I think this is a great PR move for McCain. She will get a lot of coverage these last couple of months when they matter the most. Whereas Obama has gotten coverage for the past two years. It's a bit annoying seeing his face in every magazine. Evan the ty magazines that hardly anyone buys.
Lets mention that Palin is not as polarizing as Clinton, so she might even pull more support from women voters.
If they were tied all of this time, I wonder what the polls will look like when the women jump on McCains bandwagon? |
