the other side (yes on 8) has raised over 25 million - most of their funding comes from out of state mormons. (wtf!) (my original comment has been edited, as polygmy is practiced by lds offshoots, or ie ex-mormons)
The No on 8 side has only raised 16 million.
and current polls are showing a slight lead for the yes folks because the are able to air more tv commercials...
so its gonna be close. its hard and costly to fight the church. ugh! |

| ironic that in a thread against discrimination we still have people talking stereotypes about a certain group of people that are different from them lol |

Unfortunantly I'm not so sure. My girlfriend is volunteering for the for a group out of WeHo to fight this which is part of why I'm getting more active in this...and like it says in the posts above, Mormon groups are putting a lot of money and time into fighting this. Groups that don't even live in our state. It's worth every little bit of effort to help because the "No on Prop 8" organizations are being out funded. Hopefully that won't matter. |

same here! I told them I like the big 10 inch cock. I do that to all the cute white boys with their suits that come and try to sell me on the idea that I need God in my life. I straight ask em to come in and take off their clothes, the reaction is precious. ;)
You should see what I do to right wing christian republican loons, well I never get to it cuz they quickly notice am not white and ran for the hills. :stongue: |

funding can change public opinion on a candidate more easily than it can about an issue of fundamental belief. no matter how many attack ads they put on tv, most people will maintain their views on marriage. another factor is the disparity between polling results and ballot results. when polled, a lot more people on the fence might say they're against gay marriage, but when it comes down to casting a vote to ban rights/discriminate against other people, i think far fewer californians are willing to take a step in that direction. |

and since you say "whatever" this means you will vote no on prop 8 because you wouldn't want me to force you to be Muslim if you are a Christian. |
