why is it non-sense that hamas uses palestinian civilians? by operating among civilians, hamas knows that israel will attack those positions causing civilian deaths which will give hamas support among the civilian population.
exactly. portion of an editorial written today called "Israel, Hamas, and Moral Idiocy"
quote:
The firing of rockets at civilians from densely populated civilian areas is the newest tactic in the war between terrorists who love death and democracies that love life. The terrorists have learned how to exploit the morality of democracies against those who do not want to kill civilians, even enemy civilians.
The attacks on Israeli citizens have little to do with what Israel does or does not do. They have everything to do with an ideology that despises- and openly seeks to destroy - the Jewish state. Consider that rocket attacks increased substantially after Israel disengaged from Gaza in 2005, and they accelerated further after Hamas seized control last year.
In the past months, a shaky cease-fire, organized by Egypt, was in effect. Hamas agreed to stop the rockets and Israel agreed to stop taking military action against Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip. The cease-fire itself was morally dubious and legally asymmetrical.
Israel, in effect, was saying to Hamas: If you stop engaging in the war crime of targeting our innocent civilians, we will stop engaging in the entirely lawful military acts of targeting your terrorists. Under the cease-fire, Israel reserved the right to engage in self-defense actions such as attacking terrorists who were in the course of firing rockets at its civilians.
Just before the hostilities began, Israel reopened a checkpoint to allow humanitarian aid to reenter Gaza. It had closed the point of entry after it had been targeted by Gazan rockets. Israel's prime minister, Ehud Olmert, also issued a stern, final warning to Hamas that unless it stopped the rockets, there would be a full-scale military response. The Hamas rockets continued and Israel kept its word, implementing a carefully prepared targeted air attack against Hamas targets.
On Sunday, I spoke to the air force general, now retired, who worked on the planning of the attack. He told me of the intelligence and planning that had gone into preparing for the contingency that the military option might become necessary. The Israeli air force had pinpointed with precision the exact locations of Hamas structures in an effort to minimize civilian casualties.
Even Hamas sources have acknowledged that the vast majority of those killed have been Hamas terrorists, though some civilian casualties are inevitable when, as BBC's Rushdi Abou Alouf – who is certainly not pro-Israel – reported, "The Hamas security compounds are in the middle of the city." Indeed, his home balcony was just 20 meters away from a compound he saw bombed.
we don't see roving bands of Jews in Denmark or anywhere else shooting at unarmed Arab merchants in shopping malls, either. That's another point in context for this attack.
In front of the Israeli Embassy in Denmark
These chants of "Down down Israel", "the Jews are Allah's enemies", and "Allah loves martyrs" simply reflect the short sighted thought process of these animals.

I hope when you say "these animals", you're not referring to all arabs/muslims. You're just resorting to the same level of name calling if you are.

What else would they be, fungi? Hmm, you might be on to something. I have a friend who's an arab (although not a muslim) and I have to admit, he's a pretty fun guy.

no man, definitely not making a blanket statement. I'm referring to the specific faction (which is a decent sized population) that have nothing but unadulterated hate in their heart and value death more than life.

True, real peace can happen when you love your children more than you hate the enemy.
Im not Arab, I was born Muslim but am now Agnostic. I hail from the North of Iraq(Kurd and Turkoman), and Ive met plenty of people in the UAE that have a hate in their heart for Jews..in the UAE, high school was different in that I never got any exposure to Jews, but I always saw them as people. Ive met people who since the time they were twelve have a predisposed view taught down from their elders that the Jewish baby is born dirty, a bunch of nonsense really.
but everytime I chill with a Jewish person(In canada), I cant help but notice how happy they become when they find out that Im not an Arab, but from Iraq. "Oh, Kurdistan, we're genocide brothers!" then its a cue to smack talk arab mentalities/politics for them usually etc etc.
It seems that there is large populations of hatred on both sides, to me the Arabs seem to be more vocal about, where as the Jews ive met can hide their feelings a little more, and be more politically correct about it, to me, that is.
I imagine these populations growing up, raising kids, and honestly Im not very optimistic. two very, very incompatible people on a political level.
this is a show on both sides, point being
ORG RELIGION IS ED UP. ing holy land....theyre all semitic, brothers. sometimes I cant tell an arab from an Israeli

Interesting story, thanks for sharing. I'm with you brother... organized religion in my opinion causes more problems than it solves, and if people see each other as just individuals the world would be a happier place. We have a lot more in common than not.

sorry... couldn't resist. This comes from a pro-Palestinian demonstration in Manhattan on Sunday, where participants wanted to show both their intelligence and their tolerance.
I wonder why this nice man wants to kill all the Juice in the world, juice is tasty.
I haven't been typing here for a whyle but thought I'd check out this board...
I won't get into the middle of this argument, the ones pro Israel: you're wasting your time trying to convince people who cannot be convinced and vice versa, let everyone believe what they believe, think what they think, put on your headphones and listen to some good music.
Peace.
