dude!!!

I ing love you nigga! thanks man I will try it out :)

just a quick question

I don't eat chicken stock , how do i replace that ingredient for the potage?
lenazi
well i guess vegetable stock:p

edit: i guess you could also use italian style breadcrumbs to not have to buy parm, but i just like panko because they have a nicer crunch.

Jay, give me a good Stuffed Peppers recipe. If you've already done one in this thread, just point me to the page. Also, I would love a recipe for good Chinese food (preferably with chicken). NOW! :whip: :p
djhaziel
yeah , for sure just wondering if it will make much of a diference in the taste :p
lenazi
i have no clue man... i only post things that i have made. I haven't used veg stock ever in it.

@zip. i am pretty sure that i posted a stuffed poblano with butternut squash and goat cheese recipe on ta before...but search funtion is useless and i can't type all of that right now.

general tao sauce is ridiculously easy to make.

equal parts water, sugar , vinegar.

bring to rolling boil add sechwan peppers whole and voila let it reduce..

So I made a salad today. It's fast, easy, healthy and delicious!!

Cut one cucumber , one peeled orange and some tofu into bite size pieces.
I would say take equal proportions of cucumber and orange pieces, and about half the tofu pieces.
Take out the orange seeds, if there are any.
Finely chop some mint and cilantro leaves. Again, you can decide the % of each in the mix. I took 80% mint leaves and 20% cilantro.
Mix everything in a bowl.
Add some salt, red chilly flakes (optional) and drizzle some honey.

Mix well. Serve cold. Tastes yummy :)

ok dont laugh at me, but would nestle quick chocolate powder be an ok substitute for cocoa powder in a chocolate cake recipe?

if not, can i use melted chocolate chips in the batter?
Silky Johnson
If you use quick you'll probably have to use less sugar. I would imagine you can use melted chocolate...I can't see how that would interfere as long as you mix it with the wet ingredients before adding the dry.

wanted to bump this and share an excellent recipe i made last night. it's from a bobby flay show, but i added my own twists to it.

open faced steak sandwiches with blue cheese mayo and cilantro oil

ingredients:

for the blue cheese mayo
crumbled blue cheese
mayo
sour cream
garlic powder
worstershire sauce
^ mix all of these together in a bowl and keep in the fridge until ready to eat.

for the sandwiches
1 flank steak - MUST MARINATE IT OVER NIGHT (makes a big difffernce) also, use whatever steak marinade you want.
1 box of the pepperidge farm garlic texas toast bread

for the sauce topping of the sandwiches:
cilantro
2 garlic cloves cooked lightly in olive oil
a little more olive oil
kosher salt
pepper
lemon juice
^ all of these go in a blender until it turns into a green pastey oil.

ok now basically you're going to cook the flank medium rare on the grill and slice it very thinly. always allow the meat to sit for about 5 minutes before cutting. very important.

and then you just make everything else and build a sandwich. they are open faced steak sandwiches.

spread the blue cheese mayo on the texas toast and then take a few slices of the steak and lay them on top and then drizzle the cilantro oil on top.

DELISH!!

i made sliced grilled potatoes and ceazer salad to go with. just slice some regular brown potatoes in rings and toss them in olive oil and seasonings and put them directly on the grill. they're like big homemade french fries.

i would highly recommend this for guys, i made it for 3 guys last night and there wasn't a word spoken at the dinner table lol too busy stuffing our faces.

enjoy:)

and if anyone cares to compare, here is the bobby flay recipe.

he used a ribeye steak and provolone and parsley oil. as you can see, mine has a lot more flavors going on.
Slylee
just realized i didn't put in how much of the ingredients you're supposed to use.

honestly just take a spoon and use "globs" lol (talking about the blue cheese mayo. i never measure anything when i cook so sorry but figure it out if you're gonna make it:p it's hard to mess up.
