Turkoglu plays the point-forward on a ton of sets...they'll give the ball to him at the top of the key and let him initiate the offence/create plays.
Like Peter said, the combination of Jack and Turk alternating between this role has been a good one for us....throw in the third guard and we go stale. |

The fate of Marcus Banks, who has been solid if unspectacular in a backup role, is also up in the air. It's a virtual certainty that his minutes will be cut whenever Calderon is back but it's possible Triano could find a way to play all three of them together for short spurts against specific matchups.

sorry, so I pulled it from another website, and the guy didn't source it, and it's not a Triano quote. So it's not as stupid as I thought it was. Still, my source for b-ball info is usually pretty solid, so it concerns me anyway. |

Bosh for Bynum...what do you guys think?
http://www.sportsnet.ca/basketball/.../lakers_rumour/
This is obviously not an even trade from a value standpoint...but there are a lot of other factors in play (age, money, likeliness of Bosh leaving, etc). While it's still early, I wonder what other deals might be out there.
Bynum adds size and a low-post game and allows Bargnani to move to PF (where he belongs). He is under contract potentially for 3 more years and Raps save at least 5 mil/yr vs. what Bosh would command (assuming he would stay).
but Bynum has been very injury prone and isn't a 'go to' guy or a leader at age 22. He also doesn't get to the line very often. Other guys would have to step up large...but can you picture anyone else on the Raps' roster really meant to be the #1 guy on a contending team? |

To Bynum's credit, the two times he's been injured was thanks to his teammates crashing into him down low (knee on knee hits) and that's what injured him. It's not like he went down awkwardly when going for the ball like Oden or somebody.
I wouldn't mind him on the Raps; but I think Houston can offer us better talent and assets than the Lakers (eg. Scola, Hayes, Battier, Brooks etc) |

not a fan of that idea. Personally I don't want to see bosh move at this point, and if we were to pull the trigger of a trade like that, I'd want to try to work out the resurfacing issues of ball handling and playmaking with the return of jose with a trade first.
That's where our concern should be right now, not trying to maximize the value we got for CB4, if it comes down to it. |

The bright spot was Barney and the defense they played in the 4th quarter. Either way I'm disappointed their performance, they blew a big lead and couldn't make their shots to pull thru for the win in the 4th:whip: |

If there is a square peg on the Raptors roster right now outside of Patrick O'Bryant, who never sees the floor, it is Hedo Turkoglu.
Turkoglu, who signed a five-year $53-milliion deal US with Toronto this summer, admitted yesterday he is uncomfortable with his role at a time when just about everyone else on this Raptors roster seems to have found a comfort zone.
"The things I can't do -- I don't know if you followed me much (in Orlando) and how I played there -- I just can't do the things without the ball. Even today, I had nine assists, but the things about how I play are as much about how much I get the ball and how I get myself going and my teammates too."
In short, Turkoglu is not playing with the ball in his hands as much as he was accustomed to in Orlando and he's having a hard time making an impact in games without it. |

| They need to stop with this ridiculous line-up. It doesn't effing work. It's like the most ridiculously blatantly obvious thing to see. |

I really believe the raps have some really good players because there is maybe 3-5 wins MAX I credit Triano for. Tonight was a combination of horrible running out of gas and horrible coaching decisions in the crucial minutes. There is no excuse for a team like Indiana to make us look like a high school team in the final 10 minutes like they did.
I hope everyone enjoys the 4 Raptor playoff games this season.:( |

So Hedon't Turkoglu is still complaining about his role? What more does he want? Obviously his role wouldn't be the same as on Orlando but give me a freaking break. He's supposed to be a professional basketball player. Sure he doesn't have D12 down low but it's not like he was the only one running plays with Jameer Nelson on that team. Plus the guy just can't hit a shot. At all. That's nothing to do with role but focus.
As for shis game: another fine example that from Triano that he really doesn't know what he's doing. The bench went off for a 23 point lead and what does he do? Benches most of the guys for most of the rest of the game while he watched his starting line up struggle to get it going and slowly gave the game away. Rasho put up great numbers in only FOUR minutes of action and then gets bench. Weems played with more energy than anybody else on that team and gets benched. And it seems as if Derozan will really only play half a season because he seems to be getting sent home after half time. Do they intend on developing this kid or are they gonna trade him just so he can come back and punish the Raptors? Triano had until almost the end of the game to make the necessary changes to win it but again, he insisted on using his ridiculous line ups, and turn a completely blind eye to what's been working throughout the game. How oblivious is this guy?
I'm going to the Laker game in 2 weeks and I wanna make some signs regarding this stupid line ups. Any suggestions are welcome :p |
