| Gilbert was just fined $100,000 by the league for his 'comments' on Lebron. lol :tongue3 |

charlotte part of the turk/caldy trade is dead. MJ changed his mind after signing off on it. Evans had already tweeted his goodbyes to the Toronto fans, and Chandler had already tweeted he'd been traded.
I hate trade reversals.
*EDIT*
looks as though Larry Brown put the nix on it, he wasn't happy about losing chandler. |

who the f**k wants to be GM in Charlotte? so you agree to a trade, then a minority owner who has a history of moves disagrees and the coach s on it too?
I guess any teams dealing with Charlotte had better demand that MJ and Brown be in on all convos, so you're not wasting your time, lol
I'm waiting for the Turk deal to fall apart too. then the Raps can have the same starting lineup as last year, except Amir will replace Bosh, lol.
curious to know who the other Eastern Conf. team is that has eyes on Calderon, as has been the suggestion. the only teams who really could use a big upgrade at PG are the 76ers, Pistons and Pacers...maybe Atlanta if they think Bibby is done. Don't really see any exciting moves there unless Igoudala or Marvin Williams were involved (highly doubtful) |

if BC's wheeling and dealing has taught me anything, it's that if he doesn't see the pieces on one team, he'll bring in a 3rd or a 4th to get something of value. |

hhmmm...good point. it will be interesting to see what happens. I can't see Jose being on the roster when the season starts. AWKWARD!
so Kleiza is a done deal with the Nuggets signing Harrington. further evidence that BC is certainly not done, because as much as I like this signing, he's not starter material. can you imagine a starting lineup of Calderon/Jack, DeRozan/Barbosa, Kleiza, Bargnani, Amir? hello 30 win season...maybe! lol
btw...hilarious:

"Didn’t we tell you Ron Artest is awesome?
Indeed, this Friday, Ron Artest will partner with “Upscale Crowd Entertainment” to host the Fcuk LeBron Celebration promoted above. This is roughly the same party that’s been held on the internet for the past two weeks, but Ron gets credit for being transparent about it."

| I was really hoping for the Chandler deal to go through :( Now we'll still have no D and rebounding |

The Chandler deal going through would have almost made me excited again. Barbosa trade is official! I always liked the way he played.
If nothing else, at least scalped tickets will decrease in price :) . |

| So the Klieza deal is now official and what does BC do to follow that up? Signs a 30 year old small forward in Matt Barnes to a 2 year 9 million deal with a player option in the second year. What the ? I mean yea the guy knows how to play D but was it really necessary or is BC just signing anyone he can to appear "competitive" and squeeze out as many wins as possible in his own contract year? There better be some multi-player trade coming up soon. I just don't get why BC would make these moves with all the youth we have on this team, especially at those positions. Looks like they'll be forcing Demar to play SG again next year. |

Raptors close in on free agent Matt Barnes

he would be a very solid addition to a team in serious need of some D. 4.5 mil seems pretty reasonable, given that some contenders had interest.
edit: done deal?

TORONTO (AP)—Free-agent forward Matt Barnes(notes) says he is headed for Toronto.
Barnes wrote on his Twitter page Monday that he has decided to play for the Raptors next season. He also thanked fans in Orlando, where he played last season.
Barnes started 58 games for the Magic, helping them reach the Eastern Conference finals.
The well-traveled swingman will be joining his eighth NBA team. He has averaged 7.3 points, with a career high of 10.2 for Phoenix during the 2008-09 season. |

| matt barnes for close to 5 mill, ugh. you gotta be kidding me on this. this is such a ing terrible signing. no other team has ever paid this guy more than 2 mil a year, and we give him 5. |

| quote: | It looks like veteran swingman Matt Barnes was premature when he said via his Twitter account on Monday night that he was joining the Toronto Raptors.
According to Yahoo! Sports, the sign-and-trade deal with the Orlando Magic that would have sent Barnes to Toronto with a two-year, $9 million contract has fallen through due to financial reasons.
A sign-and-trade with Orlando was needed because the Raptors recently spent the bulk of its $5.8 million mid-level exception to sign Linas Kleiza.
The problem with the deal is that is that Orlando also doesn't look to have that money to give Barnes, even in a sign-and-trade, as they are over the cap and have used the majority of their midlevel exception.
Barnes still could join the Raptors if he's willing to sign for what the Raptors have left with their midlevel exception, though according to Yahoo! Sports, there look to be larger offers from other clubs.
If Barnes ends up not joining the Raptors, it will mark the second time in over a week that details of a potential deal have leaked out before Toronto could get the deal done.
Last week, the Raptors looked to have a deal with the Charlotte Bobcats completed that would have sent Boris Diaw and Tyson Chandler to Toronto for Jose Calderon and Reggie Evans.
The 30-year-old Barnes averaged 8.8 points and 5.5 rebounds per game last season, both higher than his career averages.
