I am once again reminded of the reason why I always come back..
I was cut when I was about 9 years old, don't remember the reason it. I've always hated how I never got the chance to try masturbating with the foreskin still attached, since I would be glad if I at least knew how it feels.
Oh, and I still remember the pain from taking the stitches off. What makes it even worse is that my parents did that at home so adding to the suffering, it took ing forever to get that done.

I would not get my son's cut. He can decide if he wants it later. |

I just started posting and I did not read the whole thread.
I'm sorry I have a busier life then to sit and read who-said-what when I watched football and cooked today. Now I have a bit of time, so I am on.
I think you are going overboard as to this "robbing someone of their freedom" . Do you know who of your friends is cut and uncut? Do you treat them differently? Do they act differently?
Men act all the same.. It's not like theres a study that men who feel less pleasure think lower of themselves... or something else.
I also don't think it's mutilation. You may not agree with it but o well. |
well, this is obviously a subject that certain people are strongly opinionated about so perhaps you should educate yourself on the subject instead of spouting ignorance and insulting people.
"robbing etc etc freedom" - read the thread. you're not giving your kid the choice on the matter when he could make his own decision about it later. and it's not about self-esteem issues either, which you also seemingly pulled out of thin air
in fact, just read the thread if it's at all something you want to understand better from a different perspective. everyone has pretty much repeated themselves over and over again about the subject. if not, no skin off my back. i still have my foreskin :p
again mel i like you, and no offense, but your comments were almost as ridiculous as the OP's. |

Didn't mean to come out that way. I stated how I would like my future son.. someday :D
That's life.. I will have a child someday and doing that by no means - means I will be a horrible mother. (haha funny sentence) :p In the end - it's not like cut men will get treated differently or be an outcast. <3 |
no worries, but the "i bet you can't satisfy your women" comment was bull
if you weren't awesome i'd totally put you on ignore :p |

oh but i am awesome - that's why i said that.
and i added the haha smiley after - as a joke. how dare u take me seriously.
I don't agree with those statements you made as you dont agree with mine. I'm not alone in this and neither are you. Yet in the end I don't see how either decision will affect someone differently
If he does has a chance to make up his mind (when he is older..) it might be worse. Kinda like chicken pox. So either do it as a baby or don't do it at all. (unless you totally have to for medical purposes.) |

my son will have no say until he moves out the house - that's the whole point of being a parent. |
I'm not sure if this is just a Brazilian thing but the whole point of being a parent is help the child become a loving and independent person.
That definitely does not equal to bossing around and having always the last say. |

I didn't mean boss them around their entire life but obviously parents have the say when a baby is too young to speak - hence me deciding to cut his penor at a very young age.
I just said to do it as a baby or don't do it at all as it might be worse for them if they are at an age where they can remember the pain. |

But how should it be your decision? It's your child's body, and will be for the rest of his life. Saying that you want it cut so that's how it's going to be just because he can't have any say in it is WRONG. You can sit there and say your opinion is final on the matter, and while that may be, it doesn't make it any less wrong for you to do it. I feel the same way about ear piercings, and anything else purely cosmetic when the child is still too young to make an informed decision.
It's all purely cosmetic, it serves no purpose beyond that. |

but, as denys asked earlier-
if the baby had a voice, and could understand, and could speak, what do you think the baby would say to you if you told him/her that you were going to slice off part of its dick? |

Instead, he grows up thinking that way is the norm and isn't the slightest bit affected by it - as someone mentioned earlier. So let's not talk about what if - what if ALOT OF things!! |

I can't see why anyone would even consider doing that to a child without his consent. I truly don't get it... after all that has been discussed, why?
But, I think it's pointless to debate already. This whole discussion seems to have become something like the following:
- Cutters look for reasons to cut;
- Uncutters give counter-arguments;
- Cutters say they'd do it anyway;
- Uncutters are puzzled and perplexed;
- Cutters say uncutters should cut it out;
- Uncutters tell cutters to cut the crap;
- Cutters misunderstand the previous step. First they rejoice, then cut loose;
- Uncutters tell cutters to cut the the chase;
- Cutter claim uncutters need to cut them some slack;
- Uncutters enjoy the cut and thrust of child raising policies;
- Cutters cut uncutters to the quick;
- Uncutters say cutters aren't cut out for the job of being a parent;
- Both sides cut up rough.
No reason to go on... you can already cut the atmosphere with a knife. |

what's there to understand? what's the reasoning for doing so? just because he doesn't remember doesn't mean it's ok. no one is saying that a child is going to be traumatized over a circumcision, it's the fact that.. it just read the thread :p |
