What a terribly stoneage and irresponsible thing to say in this day in age. I'm completely pro-discipline and making sure kids know where they stand but as long as there's no permanent damage. Circumcision is permanent damage that can never be reversed. If your son/s really do see a hygiene/medical need to do it, they can do it of their own free will when they have the power to choose.
Your responsibility as a parent is to guide your kids, not make their choices for them.
Circumcision goes against all ethics that I value because it denies a person the right to choose what happens to their own body. It is not only ethically but morally wrong and not even religion is a valid excuse for it.

Why? Because in the 70s, the majority of boys were cut (for no real reason).
This has lead to pretty much all US porn having cut guys, further perpetuating the 'cut is the norm' view held by most US guys. It's also why most US girls prefer the look of cut, they just see it far more.

It's actually rooted deep in America's Puritan roots.. namely people thought it would discourage masturbation, "the solitary vice". In the 19th century there were a number of cruel devices to achieve this end... One of the main proponents of circumcision as a more permanent solution was John Kellog (the guy who invented Corn Flakes)
