Well, as I said many pages back, I wouldn't have my son cut for the sake of it. So I agree that cutting at birth out of a complicit sense of "It's the done thing" is wrong.

My point of contention is mainly this idea that it's "mutilation" in anything but the strictest sense. Regardless of the stupid religious reasons, female circumcision for me is a -load more severe and totally, unequivocally pointless compared to male circumcision. It's illegal in many countries including the US, UK, Canada and Australia. From that I'd say most people agree that it's much more severe "mutilation" than male circumcision. If you want to believe otherwise then you can, because I doubt this argument is going to sway one way or another. But I think I've made it clear why most people see one act as mutilation and not the other.
