But you did make a mistake in your logic right there. We're not omnivores. You believe we're omnivores. Whether we are or not is up for debate. You can't disprove my argument using a premise that's an assumption.
You're still ignoring the parts about the environment or the personal health. I fully admit that the animal rights part is completely different person to person. Some people care, some people don't. Some people don't have a problem with war, some people do. Morality like that is completely person to person.
One question, though. Would you eat your dog? |
Have you ever looked at the muscle mechanics of our jaws?
Do you realize that over time our jaws have become smaller and hence our wisdom teeth have less room to grow in them.
Smaller jaw design is a significant attribute to carnivora.
The reason why we have evolved to be as intelligent as we are is the supplementation of meat into our diet.
Instead of spending the whole day eating vegetables to gain nutritional value, we can eat a calorie dense piece of meat and thus have free time to engage our minds.
Also its been proven that protein found in meat has given us the ability for our brains to develope significantly.
otherwise we would probably still be gorilas. Or Australopithecus africanus. |

Humans are definitely meant to be omnivores. Historical evidence shows that early man ate meat. We have the biological system of an omnivore. Hydrochloric acid in our stomachs, NOT found in herbivores, enzymes in your pancreas designed to break down meat, NOT found in herbivores. No cellulase (the enzyme need to fully break down vegetation), cellulase is needed for an herbivorous animal, but we don't produce any. Our intestines are long (generally a sign of herbivorous animals) but our intestines are not nearly as long as a true herbivore. We possess canines, NOT found in herbivores. Do I need to go on? |
sorry just a diversion
horses actually have canines as well.
Try not to use the word DESIGNED its a bit misleading (i know i just used it in my last post) but evolution and organism change is an ongoing process that doesnt have a definite line that segregates. Sure millions of years of divergence has created multitudes of varieties but if you go back to the basics, organisms are meant to be carnivores.
Animals came way before plants and thus they must have been carinvores. Evidence in the human cell shows that one cell engulfing another and living in symbiosis is a product of this carnivorism. This is why we have a mitochondria. |

I would have no problem eating dog....no I wouldn't eat my dog but if I had a pet cow I wouldn't eat it either.
Personally, I don't care how the meat gets to my plate....if they found that beating the cow to death with rubber mallets made the steak more tender I would be all for it.
We are the top of the food chain.... all the animals....I would eat fresh baby seal eyes if they sold them at market |

| I eat meat because I always have. I don't see the slaughter, don't want to see, and am content in the belief that if the animals are humanely slaughtered, I have no problem eating the meat. Nature is nature. |
