I agree with Tara - being friendly/playful is one thing and being flirty is another
I've been consistenly accused of being "overly" friendly in the past and it pisses me off - people who know me well, know that it's the way I am, and I doubt I'm gonna go around changing my personality for clueless peeps |
but you should be aware...that you may be sending mixed signals to men...whether you like it or not. The men, whether they like it or not, are going to take the signals as flirting....its their animal instinct...they cannot help but take it that way. Some will respond to the signals and others won't....but the signals are still picked up that way. |

Yet when a girl reads a guy we discount everything until we are 100% something is a signal.
Therefore guys think they are getting a bunch of signals even when the girl is just being nice.
And girls think they arent getting any signals even though the guy really wants in her pants. |
lol

As Tara said, there's a difference between flirty and having a friendly personality. Which I think you agree with since you said there has to be a judgment call. It seems that Yohan, and Scott both feel that there is no difference. So I guess when I see them I should act like an ice queen to make sure they take the hint :p |

btw, when in doubt, I always go back to "He's just not that into you" movie or book :)
| quote: | Gigi: We are all programmed to believe that if a guy acts like a total jerk that means he likes you.
Gigi: Girls are taught a lot of stuff growing up. If a guy punches you he likes you. Never try to trim your own bangs and someday you will meet a wonderful guy and get your very own happy ending. Every movie we see, Every story we're told implores us to wait for it, the third act twist, the unexpected declaration of love, the exception to the rule. But sometimes we're so focused on finding our happy ending we don't learn how to read the signs. How to tell from the ones who want us and the ones who don't, the ones who will stay and the ones who will leave. And maybe a happy ending doesn't include a guy, maybe... it's you, on your own, picking up the pieces and starting over, freeing yourself up for something better in the future. Maybe the happy ending is... just... moving on. Or maybe the happy ending is this, knowing after all the unreturned phone calls, broken-hearts, through the blunders and misread signals, through all the pain and embarrassment you never gave up hope. |

no...it is pure animal instinct and something neither side can control. Men look to spread their genetics and women look to find the perfect genetics.
Just by being nice you are sending signals. The lioness doesn't just hang with a lion to be nice to him....she is only going to be nice to him because she wants his genetics....we are no different |

This, I would totally agree with. However, fortunately I don't have to worry about that too much b/c I hate dancing with guys at clubs. They get in my way. I like to do my thing. And whenever a guy asks if I want to dance, I flat out say "no thanks." Side note: I hate the ones that DON'T ask and just try to rub up against you. Especially when they don't take the hint when you clearly move away from them. I don't want to dance with you...find someone else to bump and grind with! |
HAHAHA I could NEVER dance with a guy in a club - in the way where he touches me and goes up against me. Even if I am dating the guy it bothers me... I want my own space when I dance. Leave the lovin' for the bedroom.
I dance with my friends (guys and girls), but in a fun non touchy way. |

no girl wants to go around being a bitch tho. it doesn't feel nice to break someone's spirit. so girls just foot around the issue and therefore no clear signals are sent. |
