| I've been friends with the majority of my guy friends for longer than I've been with my bf. We split for 2 years and none of them tried anything. My friends aren't simpletons who can't think beyond getting their dick wet. Believe it or not, there are people out there who respect boundaries and see value in relationships with the opposite sex without bringing sex into it. |

i completely disagree, i have a few good girl friends that i know that i will never sleep with and don't even intend to or want to. It is stupid to assume that every single guy wants to sleep with a girl when they are friends, how is that even true? The only way i can see that to be possible if a guy is seriously desperate. There are tons of girls who are just cool to hang out with, party, go for drinks etc. They have their own lives and i have mine (exact same as guy friends).

Yes on both counts.
Only way I can see men not trying anything with a woman friend they've been friends with since years past is if they've gotten past the tension/sexual THEN things are completely ok. This MAY explain JPs position...I could be way off and if there's prior history with all of her guy friends then that's cool but that's only b/c of that history...no?
There's a friend of mine in Uni that I've known for more than 10 years and she's as close as I can think of to a platotic friend. Only way I can think about banging her is if she's interested in me right now + she has broken up w her b/f. Only reason I don't is b/c she's attached and she's not intersted in me. Take both of those things out of the equation and for sure I'd bang her.
I met one of her friends who I'm still attracted to and I've even told my uni friend, I don't see me being friends w her when that attraction is there on my part, it just WILL NOT HAPPEN. |
