| ah - well so far seems like its still going on - but i know the mayor is really against it as he wants a new political position. Preventing these things looks good for both liberals and conservatives so if it does happen - someone better not die - to put it so lightly haha. |

I think people are looking at no big afterparty too negatively on the event as a whole...in terms of who will show up....the impactr on attendance.
Bill Graham using just oen side room like last year is only like 9,000 people. Given the well over 100,000 people who attended the day event last, the attendance at Bill Graham is only a small part of the daytime crowd.
There's still the daytime parade and festival. And as far as nightime parties, there is usually one 18+ party during the whole weekend. This year while there's no massive, there's more options for 18+ overall. There's Sequence with Spundae, Skills @ 525 Howard, and there's already IM & Schpongle at the Warfield on Oct 1, plus Kaskade at the Warfield on Oct 2, and Gotan Project on Oct 3rd. All three of those are 18+. And it gives 18+ peeps a reason to plan on going to events over the course of the weekend instead of all just in one day/night. And heck, who knows what other 18+ parties will pop up, whether big or small. |

DaveT: I agree: Spundae and Skills immediately provided Sequence...so I am also frustrated with that same stance. Especially when people are bashing Skills!!! Not cool.
A Fri 21+ club night, the parade, festival, and then something yet to be determined on Sat night: My crew is happy!

| im not going just off the skills event - hell i think its meaningless as mentioned above. i am just assuming given the current position of events both in the bay area and in the state as a whole. Promoters will be scared to even do 21+ events and have something happen because it will be spun as an afterparty to a rave festival rather than just an event going on that night. i dunno and hope im wrong - heres hoping for the best. |

there is enough reason to be mad at skills, yet those are overlooked and they get bashed for not having an official after party. COME ON, who cares?
It will come back stronger later!!!
Skills isn't f***ing up as some people are saying, they are being SMART and going more low key but without losing all opertunity to cash in on the huge crowds.
The location seems kinda lame though, we'll see... I'm holding out for Ruby to announce thier event |

listed did an amazing party with tyrant plus local/stateside talent last year for lovefest on a friday. couldn't imagine being at any other party that night. it can work ;) |

what do you mean? whats posted above is official. there won't be a bill ghraham after party, but i've never bothered with those. I am confident Taj will bring in a major player to 1015 and that Mixed Elements will do the same at Ruby Skye. Robbie Rivera has that vegas gig sunday, he's killed 1015 the two times he's been there in the December and April(my bday) so October would be 5+ months since that show... |
