I just hope that the LE organizers don't delay announcing changes. The longer they wait, the more people will be frustrated because people have made plans or are making plans on attending. Don't want them to come expecting one thing and getting another. |
I honestly don't think they know WHAT'S going on. I think it's a city issue, such as permits and what-not. Some of the floats,(i.e. Listed and Local Love) have been cut from the event for a few months. The bigger floats (such as Spundae) are probably just pulling out at this point because the city hasn't issued the "go ahead" and it gives them NO time to book top talent. If they were planning on doing any Armin or Andy Moor type bookings for their float, they would've had to book them months ago. From what I've heard, it won't even be at Civic Center. I made the executive decision not to go to "Lovefest" months ago. To be honest, I don't even think it's gonna happen. We'll see. |

| yeah... the promoters can't do anything at this point. It seems like the city of San Francisco is really cracking down on the night life scene. Shootings, POP and the list goes on. |

Wow this thread just took a turn for the worst and ruined my day lol
I was looking forward to my first Love Parade, now it seems like I'm screwed.
I am probably still going to go, SF has a ton of top notch talent. I don't mind that there are no floats, I am fine with just the clubs... |

Is there a way for the EDM community to communicate its thoughts on the matter to the authorities who are in charge of permitting the event? It took the community tremendous amount of effort to get this thing going, it is bad to kill off the event altogether.
The event would be of a much smaller scale, now that quite a few big promoters are gone. The city should have an easier time on issuing permits.
Even with a much smaller scale, the event would still be going off. Quite a few camps, Sunset, Dirtybird, Opel, Temple, Swag, etc have plenty of experience on throwing daytime events. |

Also, the talent that Spundae/Skills booked for their unofficial afterparty(Sequence) should have told us that even if they had a float at LE, they weren't going to bring in big names. Or, in this case, it was too late to do so with all the logistical uncertainty.
As Nerologic said, this ruins my day. Ack. |

what i meant was that those who were cut a few months ago or even a month ago arent saying they were yet or just started to so they can still pull in people for the club night event. That i find is pretty bs. Sure those who are cut right now from the city who are telling us right now i understand. But those who were cut and plan on informing others later so they are too late to cancel will in turn still show up for their late night event cause they are already in the city and might as well.
Not sure when Skills, Listed, and others found out they wont be able to do so - and not sure when those who were not cut but dropped out did so - but hope they did it just now and not had this info for a while. |

| this whole thing makes me really sad......now i'm wondering if i should even go. i know there are still a bunch of fun parties scheduled and my friends from atlanta are flying in as well but it definitely puts a damper on my b-day as far as the parade goes. whomp whomp sad trombone |

Seems that EDM now means Electronic Death Music in the minds of city officials and organizers, and it has killed the Love Parade, LovEvolution, etc. RIP Love Parade. :(
I hope that this is not the case, of course. I already have non refundable airfare booked, and a great deal on a hotel too...the city would get some nice tax dollars from me, but it's their decision of course... |

so you're considering not going and walking away from the flight? Luckily got a great show lined up friday, hopeful that Taj or Mixed elements will deliver saturday. not going to hold my breath on a sunday closing party i will be interested in, so maybe take it easy and hit up slide like last year, before we got walked up to guiv's birthday party at 414 with open bar! :gsmile:
the day parade has been extremely fun, but a lot of that has been due to the floats that won't be there this year(local love, spundae/skills) Guess it's time to look into the alcatraz tour saturday for my SF rookies Vet26 and Nerologic, or some other tourist trap. |
