thats why i got them at $30. obviously they can go to $70, $80, people will pay(last minute slackers) |

| Kaskade has quite a following in SF. And this is also 18+ which GREATLY helps, too. A Friday night option for 18+ crowd. |

| yeah for sure, but hes doing consecutive nights (one 21+!) at a big venue in LA as well so its not just the "hometown hero" status going for him... The last EDM act at the warfield was Orbital, right? Spundae anny before that? Spundae used 3 headliners to fill it for an 18+ party and Kaskade is doing it by himself. Different circumstances I know but still, I don't think he could have done it 2 years ago. |

His new album is shockingly good!
The vocalists all sound too much the same but the music is still very good, especially considering i don't listen to that style of music. |

so is it true that they are only allowing 6 floats this year? i heard it from a pretty reliable source ( sorry if it's already been mentioned here in this thread, just don't have time to go through and read all the pages)
i always celebrate my birthday in SF during this festival/parade and i even have friends flying in from atlanta and it's just pretty disappointing if that is all there is gonna be :( the parade and all day party is my favorite part, aside from the End Up on Sundays. just doesn't seem like it's gonna be the same. wonder if my days of going to this are drawing to an end :( |

You couldn't really do much of a parade with only 6 floats, could ya...
I honestly don't know. Theo only number I've seen mentioned in terms of floats is "20" ... which is down from "30" like last year. But that was awhile ago and maybe just a float put out there. But it was around when it was said on TA somewhere or I heard from someone or something (I forget honestly) that money would be put into the floats this year to focus more on the production of the floats. Maybe it was LE itself helping the floats with some funds to make them better. But again, not sure. Just what I kinda remember reading or hearing.
This all said, this was all before EDC and all that and sure what happened there made things tougher ont he LE organizers so they might've had to work with the city to slim things or something to keep the event going. But I dunno. |

not sure about 6 but its definitely been cut down from what I heard too... |
