seems like san fran gets a decent music weekend and lolfest should be delayed AND moved and take place perhaps first week of november??? still can be good weather - though more of a risk. And clear of halloween massives. And its still a somewhat ok window for bookings - remember, promoters can always steal a dj who is on their way back home or to a different location nearby. Just check neighboring state events.

Still screws it up for people who have flights, hotels, having PTO time setup, etc.

Dang! So any official word yet? I was planning some gigs in NorCal around Lovefest. :(

oh i know it does. Thats why I kept saying by the warning signs people should not plan to come down for this if thats the intention behind the trip. And even if this does pull through - can you imagine how sketch it will be near candlestick or oakland haha.

Everybody attending better - hide the kids - hide the wives.

LovEvolution canceled due to dispute with city on event's location

This year’s annual LovEvolution parade and dance party that attracts 90,000 attendees to San Francisco has been canceled.

The cancellation comes after event organizers could not come to an agreement with The City about a location to hold the festival after city officials said it had become too unsafe to continue the event in the Civic Center, where it was held for the past six years, as The San Francisco Examiner had first reported.

After losing the traditional location, event organizers attempted to work with the Mayor’s Office to hold the planned Oct. 2 event at the Candlestick parking lot. But they were told they had to go through the process of securing approval from the Recreation and Park Commission. The earliest it could be heard by the commission was later this month and there were no approval guarantees, cutting it too close for event organizers.

On Monday, the event organizers decided to cancel the event. Instead, they are now already working on securing a location in San Francisco for an event in 2011. They want to use Golden Gate Park’s Polo Fields. If they do not obtain approval for this location, they may hold the event in another city, like Oakland, such as downtown or the Oakland Coliseum.

Wow! Incredibly dissapointing, but expected really.

Planned to hit any day event to show support.

Can only hope that the polo fields work out for next year. Oakland, not so much.

LOL...Is it 2011 yet?

Thankfully, there will still be plenty of talent in the clubs and I'm sure some parties, too.

But, yeah.
