This makes complete sense and pretty much what I've been thinking to myself.
Either way, we have now shifted priorities and will be coming in for Ferry and Eddie on 9/24 for my B-Day!
Though we still may just make a day trip out of the parade and festival. |

So, I wanted to address all the rumors going around about LovEvolution. In case you haven't heard, people have been blabbing about LovEvolution being CANCELED. So far this is 100% NOT TRUE. What we do know is that there is a lot of pressure on the organizers for this event, in light of the recent tragedies of Love Parade and EDC. Authorities in California are keeping a watchful eye on what they deem as "raves". The event might be scaled down and moved from it's Market St route and location in front of City hall. This has not been confirmed.
OK, so here is the bad news for all you Spundae fans. Even thought there will be a Spundae float, the after party is however canceled.
LovEvolution has not made any official announcements but a friend did FWD me this email: (It's not a government secret so I took the liberty of posting it!)

We are going through a bunch of talks w the city re: our location and other event logistics.
That's why we haven't been able to update people. We are 99% on for the event, but not sure as to the location.

| So no Skills or Listed float. But there will be a Spundae float? Hope Tantra still is able to get a float going - if they were planning on doing it in the first place. I mean with Posford and IM on one float that will be sick. And IM dj sets are psytrance. Though Tantra does not list a float so id say no go. |

Skills' newsletter said "The Skills/Spundae float will be taking a break from this years festival" ... to me, it sounds like Spundae isn't doing one either. I haven't really poked anyone to get any details of what's going on. |

Ya it seems a bit late to book any big names.
When i look at some artists sites it almost looked like they were holding that weekend like they were in talks or something. But I don't think much more can be booked now.
It will have to be local artists, which is fine.
Not sure i will make it out either, and not cuz their won't be big names as much as because the crowd will be lacking the people who come for the music more this year than ever! |

Excerpt from latest LovEvolution email newsletter: "We have worked for months with city authorities on a plan that would allow us to continue at Civic Center, but in the end, it was concluded that our Civic Center festival site was not large enough to safely host an event of such huge popularity. We've been working on an alternative site and continue to do so. We hope to make an announcement next week." |

The parade route was down the Embarcadero and it finally ended in a parking lot near AT&T park.. The festival grounds were small... |
