I heard that, and also Golden Gate park as options.

Hell if its at a different location to allow more people, why scale the number of floats?

I think the number of floats were originally scaled down to be able to keep it at Civic Center. (Probably to show city authorities that they were trying to reduce the number of attendees). It obviously didn't work in the citys' eyes...

Now there's just not enough prep time for the "cut" floats to make a come-back that they're switching to a bigger location. It takes a lot of preperation to get the trucks, decorations, book DJ's, get sound/equiptment, etc. It IS only 6 weeks away...

The parade route was down the Embarcadero and it finally ended in a parking lot near AT&T park.. The festival grounds were small...

At the time it seemed pretty big. However, there weren't 115k+ people there and it was cold and windy.

I've been going for the past 3/4 years. I'll have to pull out of this one. I've looked forward to this event every single year. I hope it comes back next year!

That parade route was much better. More scenic, lol. While not as cool as Civic Center plaza, he festival site behind AT&T park was a good spot. It had downtown and AT&T park as the backdrop on one side, the bay on the other, so it's not like it wasn't like it was a BAD location. It was just was c.ool and breezy.

What does it mean?????

they could be offering their afterparty djs extra to play on some truck if they are now a loud to have a float since the location is somewhere else. All depends when they are flying in and if they can get a quick truck and setup for it - though that isnt too hard in the time given. I mean lets be serious - the 'floats' at this parade are pos's that are used just to move the djs around. Nothing major like loveparade in another country. In either case, if the city does allow more floats now with the new location I hope that can change things up. But still is hard to book artists out this late.

Wow! Anybody notice that the rule saying that only ages 18+ allowed in has been removed (from the offical Lovevolution site)?

It's about time. If they find a bigger place for the event, they should let the younger people in as well.

Steve26
It won't be the same if they eliminate the parade and just start out at the festival site. Part of what makes Lovevolution such a great event is having the parade go through a portion of the city, which sends a powerful message. They have to keep doing that.

But I'm thinking that they might eliminate the parade because very little is now said about it on the official Lovevolution site. . . .

is there even another area in the city thats bigger(not a Stadium) than the City Hall area? Golden Gate Park maybe, but is the city going to let them close of the entire park on a Saturday.

Now what happens to all the other events(Pride, etc.) that go on in the City Hall area? Is that location banned from massive public events or was this just singling out LovEvolution?

Hope they find a spot
