they told "no one"?? are you and the rest of the general public generally informed of decisions like this prior to the announcements? In years past, WMC announces dates THEN Ultra releases dates and ticket information---see the difference this year? Ultra announced dates PRIOR to WMC (broke contract) THEN starts selling tickets immediately as the backlash of WMC dates is announced (broke contract AGAIN).
Regardless of how you feel about it personally, it doesn't change the fact that Ultra bucked the system and went ahead in violation of the contracts already in place...and they pulled a shady move on fans/consumers by releasing a small quantity of early-bird tickets the other night that would immediately sell out (assuming there were only a handfull in que to sell, so it creates this big ALLURE that Ultra isn't the bad guy and its this super popular amazing event that everyone should rally around b/c who the hell goes to WMC anyway?)

| Why hasn't anyone from Ultra come forth and replied to the comments from Space and WMC. The WMC are doing a great PR job against the Ultra people without retaliation. |

Ultra always worked around WMC's dates, not the other way around. After they entered in conjunction with WMC, that's how it's always been. Ultra benefited and saw the market WMC brought, the parties, the people etc and that's how Ultra was born. But now Ultra got so commercialized that they feel they can go ahead, break contracts and get away with it, because they've already created this market they can rely on ( Demmou5, David Guetta, Will Iam ? lol ) All the Y-100 crowd all of the sudden wants to go to Ultra and can, plus all this other crowd of teens that was non existant 10 years ago. All other parties would do the same thing, plan and wait around WMC"s dates. It was indeed Ultra's fault to release early dates, since everyone knew that WMC/ULTRA were in the plans together.. now Ultra is walking off with a middle finger up in the air and do whatever they want to do.
I'll be in Miami for the whole month so I'm not affected, sucks for everyone else though. |

Eventually all of March will be "Miami Season" with opening parties and closing parties.
Just like the June to September "Ibiza Season" :haha:
I'm sure both weeks will have great parties. I have rooms booked for both weeks, I'd love to do both, however there is a small thing called "work"
But I do work for myself, so both weeks is always a possibity. :crazy: |

if Ultra could not throw their party the around the 8-12th days because of a prior scheduled event in downtown Miami (as there is - Calle Ocho).... they are left with these options
1) cancelling
2) finding another venue in downtown that can hold this many people (there isn't one)
3) moving the dates they throw Ultra
so if you are Ultra, whose event grosses millions, what option are you best suited doing?
i'm saying the WMC peeps screwed up by not looking around to see the impact of using the early dates.... because they annouced the dates so late its causing problems. if they annouced these dates 3 months ago, i'm sure this would not be an issue.
apparently there is a conventiona already booked at the Miami Beach convention center for the late march dates so that's why this is early march... |

don't read then. its frustrating to see people spout off at the mouth without knowing facts...
take it for what you will...
when all is said and done, this is SUPPOSED to be a community of EDM fans, supporters, producers, artists, promoters, etc. and this type of scandal is really negative and counterproductive to pretty much everything. |

From what I gather It looks like WMC decided that they didn't need to book there venue well in advanced. When they did it was not available. What other reason would they have for changing what has been the same week for the last 6 years? Ultra already did due diligence by booking the venue well in advanced. WMC had no option but to change the date. As people have said Ultra had no choice but to keep the date they had.
From where I'm looking this looks like WMC's up.
That being said this all from the hearsay and what not. |
