Oh and im all for 138-140 bpm. The right direction after this huge progressive trance wave which imo is hurting trance. People want to dance and are going to house events instead now since its much more upbeat (referring to general masses and not core fans). Its why House is on the rise. As cheesy at is it with mainstream, its something you can say lets go clubbing = lets go dancing. ASOT should be a platform to introduce or bring talent who dont have their own reputation as a solo dj performer yet (or ones promoters arent willing to take a risk with) and bring people on where those who got dragged in through friends to ASOT will also enjoy. This doesnt mean commercial crap like Mat Zo or Arty or Emery or ATB or new Sander Van Doorn. This means bring something strong, powerful and upbeat where those not familiar with the tracks will still find themselves always dancing and not sitting in the back waiting for the progressive and vocals to end so they can dance again. Not expressing my tastes here - expressing what the trend is now. Bring someone not into EDM to a trance event with prog music. Then take them to Afrojack. See which automatically they enjoy not knowing either one.
