A State of Trance is his brand. Every company ultimately controls their brands image and that is Armin and his team. Made promotes and puts together the event but Armin would ultimately have final say. So if he wanted certain changes I'm sure Made would accommadate to a certain extent. While we are at it let's just go ahead and say that Made and Armin are just milking this because we all know this is a trend in music (in America) and those trends don't last that long. |
I think you give Armin too much credit. You think Armin gives final say on ticket prices and ? lol he's got better to do. He literally shows up and plays, he doesn't have much more involvement than that.
I don't have issues with the ticket prices, they seem fair. The floor seats were grossly under priced. You can thank made for the sale if you were able to get them. The worst part about this party is the venue. It's horrible. But NYC doesn't leave that many options unfortunately. I'm not going because I feel it's gonna be a ty event. But I can understand why Made made these decisions. Sucks, but the only way you can have a big party like this in NYC is to do it outside when it's warm, and even that kinda sucks since outside parties end early too.
Save up and travel people, it's the only way to experience a proper, large scale event. |

| Woah, seated tix are 140 too. I think that's overpriced and they might have some problems selling all those. |

apparently you can't get more than one ticket already. Maybe not a complete sell out, but it will be close. Sad |

Its funny how when I started there were maybe 3-4 people taking pics.
All of a sudden everybody and their mother is doing it and most of them are pictures that can be taken with a regular point and shoot cam. No creativity, just an expensive piece of equipment used on FULL AUTO.
There are few very good photographers out there, but most of them do it to wack off the DJ's and look cool.
Also because of the saturation, the good photogs barely get paid now. In the end, its still work, especially processing the pictures.
A big you to the posers

I went to a show on Friday night at Space here in Miami and there were so many photographers it was ridiculous. I remember seeing 2-3 of them just standing up front taking up room with all their equipment and . While 1-2 had pro equipment and knew what they were doing the other 5-6 had cameras and equipment and probably photos.
Man I miss shooting black and white and developing it by hand. Most of the fun in photography was in the process of developing it in the dark room.
 |

Honestly, I have seen photogs (at a wedding nonetheless) with top of the line equipment and lenses and the pics look liked I could have taken them with a better point and shoot. Its how you use the equipment, eye, creativity of the photog rather than the cam itself. |

It's like anything, the equipment is an extension of the person and if the person lacks creativity and knowledge of his tools then like the saying goes you can't polish a turd. |
