It was hugely YOLO and kiddies everywhere, but what do you expect at the garden.. It's not like you can put solarstone in there and expect the place to sell out.

Personally, I go to both types of events and enjoy as much as I can. I thought W&W played pretty awful music but it was great energy. Markus and Ferry with their animation flashing on the screen is really awful but I thought their set was 6/10. Armin is armin.. You know what you're getting.

I agree with this wholeheartedly, was in 103 and was pretty bummed about the seats, but it is what you make it. Went with some friends with the hope that they could hear some real trance from MORPH MS&FC, & Armin since they're into prog house/electro (didn't happen), but the fact that I was with my good friends and all on some sort of a ride or another, it more than made up for the cheesey/YOLO music that was played.

All you who didn't like the sets last night, maybe you'll like the one I played at ASOT 600 Guatemala this past Wednesday? haha... Either way, I don't see many of you at my shows anymore, which is ironic, so... shameless plug lol

Guatemala is really just a tad too far
(3/30 AP doesn't count because the general package was a turn-off.
Hope you gave those kids a trance-lesson.)

want to go, when are you back? (now if we could get you on that little F1 in Williamsburg!)

Because of still having a modiucm of guilt about deciding to skip ASOT completely, I was just thinking today how, a few years ago, excited I got when 2 PM came about on Thurs. Also, used to look forward every year when the ASOT CDs came out. Similar thing with Ferry. I was upset that Ferry was going to play at Pacha for the afterparty rather then Best Buy, bc one of my favorite nights in recent times was his performace at said venue, music-wise and venue/vibe-wise. Sadly, those memories are now more bitter than sweet because of what trance as (d)evolved into. I was also thinking how, because of recent changes in my work schedule, I am better able to listen to Ferry Corsten's show, and how (initially) excited I was about this. When I tuned in recently, I had to turn it off within a minute:( I know that each era or decade brings a new sound and crop of artists, and when a given era or decade ends one is always in danger of falling into the "this new stuff is bad. Now, back in my day..." jaded rant mentality, but, I think this time its more of an objective reality rather than a subjective retrospect. Wish it was 10 years ago, or even 5 years ago. Hopefully, the scene will survive this era, just as Western civilization survived the Dark Ages and got back on its feet during the Renaiassance:)

"We should all forget about Gouryella, that sound is long gone, and it will never come back."

Thanks for the vid, Burak. Yea, I now see Ferry has totally divorced himself from that sound. Mourning the 20th century already:(
