Their articles are mostly full of cliches but they had a few good lines in their Swedish House Mafia @ Madison Square Garden review.

CarS, did I appropriately break down your comment? :)

Just listened to this all the way through. I'm pretty happy with it. Best in the business? No. But it's good. It's really good.
It makes me wish he would do this all the time but he doesn't and there's plenty of other great DJs who do still. When it really comes down to it, I enjoy both of Armin's sets for what they are now. One is the kinda music I can get lost in and really appreciate and the other I equate to hopping around and just kinda "pump up music". Oh well... It's good to know he's still got it.

Because EDC london's been mentioned above, from RA:
"there will be "theatrical performers, dynamic large-scale art installations amidst multiple stages and numerous full-size amusement rides"
The lineup leans heavily on EDC's mainstream staples like Tiesto, Steve Angello and Alesso. Bass music will be well represented, with sets from dubsteppers Caspa and Rusko, drum & bass legend Goldie, Digital Soundboy head Shy FX and BBC 1Xtra DJ Mistajam."
LOL.
love the comments:
"I hope it rains. A lot."
"This is a late April Fool's, right?"

" off back to America, we don't want your here"
"America's bull is invading Europe LOL!! Hey, I am happy as long as they stay out of San Fran"

I just stumbled upon a ASOT torrent... few seconds of digging and it shows that Armada released a 5CD box with few DJ mixes, AVB being amongst them and here is the track list of his mix:
01 - gaia - aisha (intro mix)
02 - solid globe - north pole
03 - three drives - sunset on ibiza
04 - way out west - killa (orkidea remix)
05 - matt darey presents lost tribe - gamemaster
06 - rapid eye - circa-forever (r e mix)
07 - moogwai - viola (armin van buuren remix)
08 - airwave vs rising star - sunspot (sneijder remix)
09 - vengeance - temptation (denga and manus mix edit)
10 - paul van dyk - buenaventura (reflections vinyl mix)
11 - thomas bronzwaer - shadow world
12 - mark burton vs sunlounger and zara taylor - try un...
13 - saltwater - the legacy (alphazone remix)
14 - binary finary - 1998 (gouryella remix)
15 - push vs globe - tranceformation
16 - ocallaghan and kearney - exactly (radio edit)
17 - armin van buuren and markus schulz - the expeditio...
He almost got me.
Yep, some of these tracks compose almost first half of AVB's 138 stage set. That asshat wasn't playing these awesome tracks because it was fitting for that stage and set, he played them to promote and sell this damn 5 CD box.
Also as AY pointed out, 2nd half AB played all the overplayed tracks he has currently on rotation for his usual sets.
No, I'm not fooling myself that he would comeback to what he said as "the sound that he loves", because that's not where the money is, I get that. But actually now it makes me question if he even still loves this sound at all. Yeah, I secretly still had some respect for this guy, but after pulling this crap I put this douche with the rest on my sell outs list.
Just had to share these thoughts :)
Seriously some people on this message board are clueless. Armin's 138 set was remarkable and the entire roster that comprised the stage was equally stellar. I'm sorry you're butthurt because 1 or 2 tracks found their way onto a compilation that is being sold for profit.
Were you pissed off at the Top 20s from yesteryear because they dared to duplicate tracks that had already been played within the calendar year?

I'm not butthurt over anything, just shared my thoughts and my opinion on why Armin played this kind of set. It was still good, but it's nothing what it could've been if profit wasn't his first priority.. And you got your statement backwards. There was a reason that 1 or 2 or more in fact tracks from that compilation found their way into AVB's set. ;)
I don't really follow top 20's *shrugs*
So, besides that small observation, the 138 stage was amazing. I've got no complaints there.

Not defending Armin on this because like I said, it was good, not the best, but really good.
However, don't we all do what we do for profit in the end anyway? Like isn't this just beating a horse dead? ...or is it beating a dead horse? haha

This. Honestly I could care less about anybody else's opinions about Armin and his sound. I saw his Expedition tour in Miami and wasn't too happy with the direction of his set. It was clear as daylight he was sticking to his formula of vocal house/trouse/electro for the first half and the hard mashups at the end. That being said, I can understand the frustration from those who miss the more trancy sound from him. I get it. But when it crosses over into discrediting a set because of track repetition between a live set and a compilation album, it just reeks of why this place has become a cliche of generic Armin complaints preceded by "I'm not a hater, but..."
I'm not pointing fingers at anybody in particular. You're entitled to your opinions, but why so much shock and awe at Armin selling albums and making a profit? Luciano is playing a $70 set at Cipriani next week. Richie brought Enter to Provacateur. Yet if either of these sets made it online, I doubt I'd see many comments to the tune of "damn, almost had me. Thought it was all about the music. Guess its just profit!" Get real.
I enjoyed every set I heard from the 138 stage. Maybe I am in the minority that enjoys Armin's main stage sound too, albeit not nearly as much as his harder stuff, which is of course a rarity these days. Maybe I'm in the even larger minority around here that listens to these sets and takes them for what they are, and doesn't nitpick every track I've heard before in another set or album, or cross my arms every time a vocal track appears. I'm not delusional enough to listen to an Armin van Buuren set and demand all ID tracks. There's other DJs who play that type of sound, and I'll listen to them when I want to hear it, not expect it from a DJ whose sound has evolved into something else.

What's funny is that most of those EDM performers are European...and they were big in Europe before they got big here. RA has a great wealth of information but the posters are douchebags.

Richie bringing a half assed Enter to Provocateur was really annoying. New York hasn't gotten a proper Enter night and he chose to play there out of all places. Bringing Enter to Mansion during WMC was also a huge disappointment, I didn't even bother going.
Luciano playing Cipriani New York seems to be part of the deal he has with Cipriani Ibiza. Not my cup of tea.
Don't think people here aren't equal opportunity critics. I, myself, am more forgiving of artists though who actually regularly turn out quality music and don't spend half the show posing like Jesus and waving around heart signs instead of DJing. I mean Armin barely produces his own tracks anymore, he's just a face to the brand he's created. Meanwhile artists like Richie and Luciano have incredible labels and are truly dedicated to their music... I can overlook some ty bottles and models bookings with the respect I have for them.
