I sold makeup for some time, most all of it on the basis that it would either make them look better, impress their friends and there is only a very, very small factor in what their significant other or potential partner is taken into consideration.
Ask a man what you look like in a dress and they'll grunt, shrug or try to make some kind of token effort to say something which won't get them killed. Take him clothes shopping and I can guarantee that after about two-three hours, most are wondering what they did to deserve a waking nightmare.
