Can you tell me who produced the pamphlet?

AiG or CSE or someone?

I have a big problem with people promoting ignorance.

If you spelled out those initials it might jog my memory. I basically traced it back to a christian political party, possibly related to fred niles.

edit: here i think this is where my sleuthing led back to:

http://www.cdp.org.au/

the pamphlet is entitled "is evolution real science" lol.
gumble
AiG = Answers in Genesis (Ken Ham)
CSE = Creation Science Evangelism (Kent Hovind)

They have no scientific credibility whatsoever, they trade on creating a sense of doubt about scientific FACTS through miscontruing the meaning of them to an ignorant public.

It annoys me that they use "religion" to try and argue science. I'm not at all opposed to religion, but I find that creationism is more of a magical nature god CULT, really.

If the CDP did produce the pamphlet, they seem to have all the hallmarks of the Republicans, don't you think?

This is from that website:

quote:
Even if CO2 is accepted as a driver of climate humans only produce a small digit percentage of the total CO2 in the atmosphere which is an insignificant contribution to overall atmospheric CO2. Therefore, there is little or nothing that can be done by humans that would be reliably predictable and of certain benefit to affect the current phase of climate change.

Moreover, it should not be automatically assumed that any and all climate change is undesirable. Many changes in the past have been desirable. There is no such thing as
an unchanging ideal global climate.

Typical nonsense. No references to back these claims up, and they put it forward as policy. Read the IPCC AR4, bitches.

quote:
The CDP:

1. Accepts that the scientific debate around climate change is unresolved and in that sense the CDP remains agnostic in respect to scientific elements of the climate change debate.

There is only debate left from a few old sceptics who are set in their old ways and want to make a few bucks off writing a badly researched book, and from me when I want to be a **** and bait people who havent thought about their position (an old thread on TA) :p

jesus, that sounds about right! luckily they're not a dominant party here. Oz > US.

yeah, i have no problems with creationism being taught in bible class, but it should stay the away from any real subject.

15.) The theory of evolution is supported almost completely by atheists...and atheists don't have just a great track record for telling the truth. Lying comes natural for them, as they don't believe in The 10 Commandments and see nothing wrong with lying, cheating, stealing, murdering, etc....because, hey, we're all just dumb machines that operate by random chemicals bouncing into each other. To them, (or many of them) telling lies and killing Christians is a good thing because they hate Christians and wish we were dead.

absolute gold.

Our Savior obviously didn't want people flying or floating whenever they felt like it so He invented gravity. Bees also have an important role in his creation and He doesn't necessarily want people messing with them so He gave them stingers. Therefore if someone decides to break the physical law of gravity he could either break a leg or die. On the other hand, if someone sees a bees' nest and decides he doesn't like it and starts to swing at it with a base ball bat, it probably won't be too long before he will get a teeny glimpse of hell fire all over his body...but he'll probably survive in most cases.
