if you read the post AFTER this one, you might have read more what i meant by the first statement: and i didn't mean they're idiots: but they are portrayed like that: even from the industry that sells them to us.
whether or not their idiots in real life is unimportant, because they're sold solely as bodies- they're sold as mindless things that are valued by society because they're hot.
i was simply suggesting that it's bull that our society puts such a high value on the attractive idiots (which is how they're sold), which leaves less room for actually skilled people, and i used hate cause this' called the hate thread :p
edit: obviously the fashion industry makes a butt-load of cash, and is probably good for the economy and what-not, and who am i to tell people what to do with their lives: it just seems to me that if there wasn't such a positive attitude to the shallow-ness of the fashion industry then maybe those tens of thousands involved would have put their interest into say, teaching or becoming a doctor, or something that helped society in a real and impactful way, instead of strutting around in nobody will ever wear...
edit2: (i assume nobody will get this far)- the fashion industry is also pointless, because those of us who have studied the "future documentaries" (i.e: science fiction films etc), should realise that at some point in the future, there's gonna be a uniform code of some kind: that's why in sci-fi everyone's always wearing those white/silver/grey jumpsuits... can't wait :D |

my point is when its industry and thats how they are doing then selling it to other countries you can stop it, by not supporting it rather than saying oh thats life, animals kill animals we might as well torture them then sell there skin!

We have always done this though. It's human nature to elevate people to some sort of status and lower others. The "beautiful" people are always going to find life easier, and if they are smart too then they are set. That's just the way all animals work, including humans though we have taken that to an extreme.
Meh, what can you do. I don't see things changing. |

it's not about the time i have it in contact with me anyways, it's about what i'm doing with that time: like yesterday at birra lauren and i were just looking at the ad on the back of inpress, with the weird drawings... not reading :D

lol and to stay on topic, I'm currently after a chick that is both stunningly good looking, smart and an awesome chick. The unusual thing for me is though that we click so well and it seems she's into me too.
Only problem is we work together. Hmmm.....work relationships, decisions decisions. I'm usually totally against them but damn, don't think I can avoid this one :wtf:

yeah, i'm not saying it's impossible: hell, my point is that they could all have intellects high enough to win the nobel prize, but this fact being true (that they may be very intelligent), is inconsequential because the industry says it is. all they show you, all they want us to know, or think about is that they're hot, and that's how we should be. just hot. that's what i hate... :) |
