its a LONG and boring story. basically ended up having to system restore after hit the fan and i lost mouse support, but the system restore ed some of my other programs (ie the only 2 games i currently play) and now i need a complete re-install to fix remaining gremlins. |

Oh, just a re-install? When you said 'rebuild' I thought you meant all new hardware, and I was wondering how the hell you managed to things up so badly :p |

true, and its probably overdue. i think my 80gb drive is like 8 years old or something. but still, NOT looking forward to starting from scratch given i had everything working nicely for the last 18 months with no issues :/
im over re-installing windows! this would make at least a dozen re-installs over the last 5 years.
lol gumble, perhaps they dont! |

Awww poor pkc :p
My RAID 0 died the other week, stupidly it was my boot drive. Had no issues for ages, Vista 64 was a good OS. Have switched to a Windows7 / Ubuntu dual boot now (as I had to reinstall), best way to go :)
I love having a macbook, the new ones are easily the best on the market for any sort of laptop.
But yer, for grunt I have my quad-core at home to process DNA analysis / modelling and for GIS stuff.
I'm not a fanboy of any particular operating system, they all have benefits. OS-X is the nicest for general use though, well integrated and stable. |
