ive never had a job, so i wouldnt know.
i hate people that tap the top of a can before opening it. they think it makes it not fizz as much. bloody bull. how is adding more pressure to a closed can gona help dissipate the pressure already built up? idiots. :whip: |

I always do that and I never really knew why.... It's just a habit I got from somewhere.
Is that really what the idea behind it is... lol, its called physics idiots. |

| Yeah, i've always wondered that too, i think it's stupid coz if you tap it, it's just going to agitate it and any bubbles that are stuck to the sides (think coke in a glass) will just become unattached and float to the surface (think put glass of coke down on a tabletop, except worse) just to where you don't want them... Kinda silly really :D:D |

I think you'll find the reason people tap the top of the coke can is to make the job of opening the coke can easy. By tapping it you'll add a little bit of residual stress into the top surface of the can thus making it easier to crack the seal when you open it. Thats just a theory - but it would make more sense then the whole stopping the bubbles thing.
Truth of the matter is most people would do it out of habit and not have a clue why they do it... so why worry about it - does it hurt you when they do it? |

everyone always used to say, its to stop it from squirting everywhere... and so we all just kinda got into the habit of doing it..
hahah
but we'll stick with the 'it makes it easier to open' excuse now |
