I might need to listen to it more for it to grow on me, but a very unmemorable mix for now. |
The only thing I remember from it upon first listen is: "Global Underground Promotional Copy" :o |

On the plus side, the Engineer track is in my top 5 for the year. |
Definitely a good tune, and a fair enough silver lining to what wound up being a bit disappointing mix. Probably wouldn't have heard it otherwise, so yeah - also probably the biggest plus for me too. :) |

I can't understand why you try to compare it to an EM or Avalon. It's a studio album, and production wise it's ing solid. |
I wasn't really comparing them, in a listening point of view, I just find them more enjoyable to listen to and far more exciting in their own way as Sasha works. |

Well, I had a lot of different expectations for this mix. First you have the original Involver which is funky, eclectic, and unique in it's own right. Then there's the recent Sasha sets that I've been listening to for the past years which while technically exceptional, have been dull and uninspired. I was really hoping for the first one, but was afraid I was gonna end up with something like the latter.
What I ended up getting was a blend of both sides: some great tracks, specially at the first and last 20 minutes, but the mix is so technical and devoid of all the warmth and the elements that made the first Involver so great.
The first 5 tracks fit together, and build up so well that by the time the mix reached 20 or so minutes I had a grin on my face and at one point thought that my initial concerns were nonsense. But then, 'Midnight' gets mixed in and the flow is completely disrupted. There's a 'disturbance in the force' if you will :p
After that, the mix kinda drags on with a bunch of new Sasha productions that are not bad at all, but don't fit the mix at this point and destroy the atmosphere that had been so brilliantly built up by the first 4 tracks, specially 'Eclipse' which is one of my favorite tracks on the disc.
It isn't until 'Couleurs' kicks in that the mix begins to pick up again and culminates brilliantly with 'Sometimes I Realise', another one of my favorite tracks.
Musically, this feels a lot more like a sequel to Fundacion than to Involver, but Fundacion is better. |

| wow, I thought nothing can be worse than Digweed's transitions vol 4, but we have a new winner. Like someone already pointed out Fundacion NYC sounds good compared to this. The quality of electronic music nowadays is becoming a disaster |

| Pretty much agree with what's been said already. I liked the beginning, the middle was a borefest, and I thought Couleurs through to the end was nice. I mostly enjoyed certain tracks off of here, and not the mix itself. |

Isnt one listed on Gu's webstore thus far, so I would say no unless they decide to do so sometime down the line. |

Well, to be fair - a lot of people did say that when it was released.
I really like Fundacion quite a bit. Not as much as the initial Involver, but enough to listen to it pretty regularly to this day. :) |
