| Joel is far from the begin-all end-all of international djs. But I don't know if I would call him "far from decent". He is definitely no Digweed, but he does have his own sound which has been on fire in the last few years. I wouldn't count him a favorite of mine, but I for one will enjoy his show here in Columbus, just as I did last time he rolled through. I am sure there are a lot of people who will do the same in Cleveland as well. I cannot personally attest to it, but I have heard that he is somewhat an abrasive personality that hasnt treated some people so well in the past. Even so, a night out with good music in Ohio is not to be taken for granted. I enjoy the locals in both cities as much as any, but in order to keep the music and events alive, as well as build enthusiasm for electronic music in these markets, international djs have to make stops here, whether they be Digweed, Tiesto, or even Deadmau5. |

Well put! I'm no music expert, but I dig deadmau5 and i'll probably go to the columbus show too. like you said, at least they're promoting the electronic music scene at all around these parts of the midwest. missed you at benny btw, but i definitely had a good time, hope you did too. |

Just because he's been popular in the past couple of years doesn't mean he's not complete . Tiesto has been popular the past 8 years, but that doesn't hide the fact that now he's a horrible producer and DJ (although he was good pre-2001, Energy 2000 being one of the most epic sets ever, and I still consider ISOS1 to be one of the best compilations out there.)
Joel on the other hand was never good in the first place, Faxing Berlin and Not Exactly were catchy when they first came out, but then these tracks lost their novelty when he produced a billion other tracks that sounded exactly like those tracks. I think the final straw came when he bastardized Finished Symphony.
As far as his personality, well you don't have to go far for that. Just head over to the Music Discussion forum and read a few of his posts and you'll see that in fact what you heard about him is true. |

a little over a two hours if you drive reasonably. its a long, dark drive...not many places to stop so don't be too tired on the way back or you might pass out haha. i've been close to it before.. |

| I would plan on 3 hours to cover potential "get lost" time, as I call it. You're kinda lucky, though, you'll be driving into Columbus on I-71 and BoMA is literally right off of it on Broad St. Cops are supposed be out in force though for the St. Patty's Day weekend. |
