That doesn't make sense to me. Is hate a part of your religion?
If you have a particular faith or religion, that is good. But you can survive without it.

Well I'm a Catholic myself but I stopped going to church years ago. I don't hate Christians though. I used to attend a Catholic school when I was younger but as soon High School hit, that was it for me.
Each to their own, but religion is not an important factor in life for me at all. |

Riiight. I'd like for you to attempt to 'prove' the theory of creationism false. Don't you think that if proving Christianity false was easy, it would have already been done so and there wouldn't be any Christians in the world??? Humor me: make one attempt to prove Christianity as wrong.
And then after you're finished please humor me by proving that I'm not a fish that created and typed this post. Fish can't type, you might say- that's easy. Well how do you know- maybe they have the ability and just simply choose not to. I am in fact a fish that typed this post, and you can't ing prove me wrong.
Some things just can't be proven false. Christianity and the theory of creationism is one of them, so your comment that 'proving their religion is wrong cuz thats easy' was pretty fuggin ignorant, imho.
I'm agnostic, by the way.
edit** an agnostic fish. |

thats akin to arguing "prove to me that fairies don't live on the dark side of the moon"
creationism is proved wrong again and again and again by evolution. |

sorry, you havent satisfied me as to why religious belief is deserving of inherent tolerance? this is one of those assumptions that theists seem to take as a given. but no other belief system receives such automatic "respected" status, so why does religion deserve it without having to defend its position from potential criticism like any other "ism"? |
It doesn't. Point me again to where I said it did. |

if you haven't read this book, it s on richard dawkins' tact (hitchens doesn't even like dawkins)...

basically highlights the 4 major ways religion and the idea of god poisons humanity |

Science cannot disprove God as well as they cannot disprove Apollo or Juju or Thor with his hammer or even a Flying Spaghetti Monster creating the universe. However, we do not believe them as they are unlikely to exist. We do neither believe in fairies of Hans Andersen although we cannot disprove them. To believe in an unlikely event or a deity only because we cannot disprove it, sounds foolish to me.

The starter of the thread makes a very smart comment about Christian's, then he goes and calls them off.
I'm a Christian... Now there's the question. What is a Christian?.. To me a Christian is anyone who believes in the atonement of Christ and he's role on earth.
From what I read in the first couple of pages was that a lot seem to place all Christian's in the same bag as a Catholic or whatever other denomination that branches out of the Roman Catholic, bringing out all this Priest inmorality and whatever other issue out there.
I believe that everything falls and is related to Science. Some think that Science and Religion don't go together. I see it the opposite, so much so that God is the greatest Scientists. Everyone he used and whatever he uses requires some type of science. If one finds the way to the codes of Science one can understand and unriddle the mysteries of other dimensions and the matter and all that physics and chemistry stuff.
Now to the question of the starter of the thread. Very interesting that you don't care about Christian's, and seem to despise them, yet you are interested to know what they believe in you topic.
Lots of religions have a different theory about what your asking. Catholics believe that kids need to be baptised to cleanse them from sin as soon as they are born, I believe they are born clean and get baptized at 8, meaning that's when they know from right or wrong.
Incapacitated people have no brains to see from right or wrong, meaning, their perception can only identify with the mind of a 3 year old. Does that make sense? |
