She's talking about clubamerica being an idiot bigot who doesn't belong on a forum centred around a music almost entirely founded by homosexuals.
She didn't actually say that, I'm just kinda wingin' it. |

lol yes you would...but I thought you were talking about me for some odd reason. Maybe it's the 4 red stripe and 3:10am talking. Or should I say, thinking. |

The point I was trying to make is, Christianity is largely incorporated into our society, atheism is not. The "debate" if there even is one, is clearly skewed. |
But does that mean that when a specific debate arises (like this one...not "the debate" in general), that atheists should have a longer leash with regards to lack of respect or offensiveness?
I'm not contesting your point, but I don't think that should have any effect on a discussion just about different beliefs. |

You're being intolerant of my intolerance. This is intolerable.
Seriously though, true 'tolerance'(if it exists) lies in complete lack of all communication. I don't think I could tolerate that. |
It's more than possible to have a debate and disagree without insulting the other person or dismissing their beliefs. Granted, it takes some very basic level of maturity, but it's not exactly challenging. |

I don't think so. I try to be nice, but it's hard and I often fail miserably at it.
It's just tough when your opponent can simply keep using "because" as justification. :stongue: |

Should I drop the wit and verbosity? :( |

Yes, these are traits that Jesus would disapprove of - especially in a woman.
NOW TOLERATE MY SUPERIORITY AS A MALE XTIAN. TOLERATE ME. |

Well, every side has to use "because" in a debate about religion, because there's simply no way to prove whether God exists and, if so, in what form.
In general, though, yes, it's frustrating, but that just means that the person posting doesn't have enough information to be making a given point. You can't expect everyone to be an expert, but people are bad at saying "I don't know." |

You're smart enough to figure out what I mean and not ignore it. |

I'm guessing owning shoes are probably up there with things Jesus hates too :(

What the hell is an Xtian?
And do they die if their head collides with the bumper of a Landcrusiser at 60mph? |

I don't think we're talking about the same thing.
Or at least, we aren't at all on the same page. Sorry. :o |
