lol Red. I would have preferred blue, but I'm not going to say no to a good deal just b/c it's my 2nd or 3rd choice colour!

Some of the car salesmen sure don't. I can't tell you how many phone calls and emails I've gotten in the last few weeks. Every time I just say "thank you for the information, I'm looking at a number of cars. I will contact YOU if I have any more questions"

What kind of car did you buy?

Gratz! It feels good to be done with it :). I am a new owner of an Acura TL 6MT, which still needs new tires, alignment, oil and tranny fluid (the joys of buying used!)

So I ended up buying a car today. I found a used 2008 Sentra with only 25,000km, no accidents or anything. It was $18,500, but we negotiated it down to $17,000 + 4 oil changes + tinted windows + full tank of gas.

Good deal! enjoy the wheels! :)

Which red tho. Like maroon or nice sexy red?

I am a huge fan of sexy red and would rather have that over blue any day. In fact, I will probably have bright red cars for the rest of my life.

It's a medium red. It's nice, no huge complaints. I wanted bright blue though :(

Edit: This is it

P.S. Thanks everyone!

Nice purchase Lisa :)

What are the specs on the extended warranty and how much more is it?

I would get it though for sure either way

Thanks! I still have 1 year left on the manufacturer's warranty for basic coverage, and 3 years left for the engine and transmission.

But here's the details for the extended warranty. I'm at work, so I don't have details on what exactly it covers (I think it's a lot). I'll post it later. But here are the prices:

48/100 48/120 48/140 48/160 (months/kilometers)
1,556 1,658 1,799 1,955

60/80 60/100 60/120 60/140 60/160
1,480 1,582 1,697 1,847 2,030

72/80 72/100 72/120 72/140 72/160
1,559 1,735 1,897 2,108 2,335

84/80 84/100 84/120 84/140 84/160
1,602 2,116 2,363 2,692 3,087

A friend was saying that I'd have to think about how much I want to drive the car and how long I want it for. I hope to have the car for a long time. As for driving, I'll be doing city driving in Windsor, with a few trips to Whitby to visit Ian. I'll be moving to Toronto in a couple years and it'll be the same, some city driving and then trips home to Windsor to visit my family.

For extended warranties, don't trust any extended warranty other than a manufacturer's extended warranty. Lubrico and all those others have a history of having claims rejections. They'll nit-pick your oil change history, and find all kinds of resons to reject a claim. Speak to your mechanic. All mechanics will tell you this.

Ya, I'm pretty sure it's not a manufacturer's extended warranty. I believe it's Coverage One.

The one thing that I didn't like is that it was 0 deductible if I bring it to the service station in Windsor, but $50 for any other licensed Nissan service station. If I'm going to be living in Toronto after a couple of years, I don't want to have to drive to Windsor every time I want something done, and in some cases maybe I can't drive to Windsor!

Just make sure you read the small print and understand all the limitations and consult a mechanic
