you also bought an auto (i know you had good reasons) but that takes away from the performance of the car. dont waste money buying silly things.

dont buy ugly rims. keep the stock ones and get better rubber when needed.
dont buy some cheap exhaust thatll just sound like crap.
dont paint any interior pieces. dont buy any chrome accents.
dont buy ugly tail lights or headlights
etc.
keep the car clean.

some lowering springs are pretty cheap and generally look good and help a tiny bit with handling. there are ranges of height to. so dont buy the biggest drop.
a lowered car is fine in the winter provided its not slammed..but even then if you have winter rubber youd be fine.

Think all i'm doing is lights... already ordered them. Never getting RIMs unless there is some crazy ass deal on it! Change the tires eventually, cross that bridge once I get to it. No interior , besides the lights and sound...

Only other thing I was thinking about was replacing the antenna with the sharkfin like on a BMW...

Probably wait till after the winter tho...

You know where to get that coldair intake tho? My lil bro was looking for that too...

not sure of locally(for you) ..im sure there are places near you... and being close to the US you could probalby find something in detroit for cheaper.

locally to me jrp would likely carry something...prices there are ok(Depending)

so you actually ordered actual headlight and tail lights?
sell them when you get them. seriously dont put them on :(

and dont do that silly antenna. like i said.dont waste your money on silly things and rice out your car.

keep it clean.

got a link to the lights you ordered?

Lowbeam front lights... http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MEWNX:IT

I put bright lights on all my cars, brighter and safer IMO especially living out where I am, I'm in the county alot of places not lit up as much as the city... I'm not going to put underneath lights, or glowing wheelwells or anything!
Euphorica
Putting those lights in a housing not designed for it is unsafe to other drivers. You put out glare(and upticks)and blind on coming motorist.

even with halogen projectors. pls dont install those.
you want that kind of lighting do a proper HID retrofit.

seriously those kits are bad.
I can understand the want for brighter light but thats NOT the proper way to do it.

edit: the mazdaspeed 3 comes with hid's im pretty sure. get those headlights!

take it out and stop blinding on coming traffic.

Mazda 3 has projectors so you wouldn't run into the blinding problem...

I've done the conversion to my Golf but my lights make an almost perfect line below the lign of sight of oncoming drivers...

I ing love that HID flash when you first turn the lights on...

the non hid projector is NOT the same
so yes you do run into that problem. not as bad as a pure halogen housing but its still there.

so either retro proper hid projectors or run the mazdaspeed units.

or it is just a hazard for other drivers.

Sometimes I get annoyed by regular headlights :p
Euphorica
a lot of people (as of late) seem to be running with their high beams on and are completely oblivious to it. :wtf:

its pretty easy to accidentally put them on in newer civics but common people. the blue light in your instrument cluster = high beams

High beams flashing into the rear view mirror and blinding me makes me want to hurt people.

I'm only doing my lowbeams, i'll try it out, and see what happens (they actually just arrived today)

I've seen it done to many other cars, friends etc... never really bothered me. I agree with you on your points, and in a ideal world I would have that money to buy the $300+ kits for each light, and maybe I will, but in the meantime for now... I'll see what these do.

My friend at work did it to his Mazda 3 Hatch, looks awesome... same kit he said.

1. its illegal.
2. you arnet understanding. read the link i provided.
3. dont install it pls.

im not trying to be a dick either or hold you back in some way. I am trying to provide you with the proper knowledge to go forward with this mod.

glare and improper upticks blind oncoming motorists no matter how hella tight you think it looks

that is unsafe.

welcome to owning and modding a car properly. it cost money unfortunately.
