sounds good. history etc sounds good. good that they are also letting you take it to another place to inspect it.

Check the seam welds on the rear fenders. I can almost guarantee that they're rusting out. They all do, and only within a few years. It's ing brutal. Check for bubbling under the paint on the crease in the sheet metal on the outside of the fender right at the lip as well.

Mine is bubbling underneath the paint on the left rear, about the size of a pea - it drives me insane.

For s and giggles my cousin wants me to list it on Kijiji just to see if people would pay more than I did...

I've only seen chips so far... gonna keep checking on the rear since i've heard it's notorious for that....

LOVING the drive of this thing tho.... picked it up yesterday, checked out by a mechanic, waiting on another here in Windsor...

But so far so good, these things drive like butter! SO MUCH FUN! I'm gonna get a ticket for sure! (knock on wood i don't)

Love this thing, Mazda 3 GT = FTW

Exact same thing with my buddies...right on those exact spots! So annoying!

Yes. It's a defect from the factory - the seam welds are imperfect, thus allowing moisture to collect in the folded over sheet metal on the inside of the fender. Rustproofing would have no effect on this other than to really seal it off and ensure that it does rust from the inside out.
