You just dont do movie scores, or write music for games if you cannot produce or compose.

1. I have heard Tiesto doesn't know how to produce, but hires ghost producers.
2. I have heard that Josh Gabriel was the real producer of Gabriel and Dresden, and that Dave Dresden gave suggestions, but really doesn't know how to produce.
3. I have heard that Serge Devant hires producers to produce for him.
4. I have heard that Kenneth Thomas does not know how to produce, but hires producers to produce for him.
5. I have heard that Niklas Harding does not know how to produce, but hires others to produce for him.
6. I have heard that Paul Oakenfold makes his ghost writers sign contracts stipulating that that they may not tell anyone that they are producing for Oakenfold. I have also heard that Oakenfold cannot write a melody or physically produce a tune.
7. DJ Sasha has gives Charlie May credit for producing for him.

Reddick and Calderone (Calderon-ee), the so-called producers of 'Sound Of Flight' had Tom Porcell of Funabashi produce their tune for them. |

You`ve heard ?
Now why would he do that, how was he able to actually make music when he wasnt famous from before ? same with Tiesto, same with Paul van Dyk.
These guys were making music long before anyone knew who they were at all.
Ghost producers are mostly used for engineering purposes, Tiesto, Sasha for example, they just dont have time to sit and tweak a bass sound until it fits, they come up with a composition, arrangement etc etc.. they do the basics of the track, while the other producer engineerings the sounds etc .
All rock artists, pop artists, rap artist, have engineers or other producers finishing up their tracks.
Why should this not be accepted in EDM, when its accepted in every other ing genre out there. |

How do you know? I have a very credible source on this one. How do you know Paul has ever technically produced. He built himself up as a DJ, but then realized he could get ahead by hiring producers to produce for him. He realized he could get his name on productions. He had the leverage to be able to do it. He is a business guy and a DJ. |

He is a genius with music, every compilation, track or remix he has made has been has been great, they guy obviously has an awesome knowledge about great music.
Yes im a fan!
If others were doing work for him does for does not make sense in any way to me, because he has been consistently great for the most part throughout his whole career.
And even if it IS true, what would it matter ? i still know that when i see something with Oakenfolds name on it, im most likely going to love it, its a brand of quality.
Im prolly the only existing fan around here though. |

I am not saying Paul has not assembled nice compilations. A person who cannot produce can pick great music to play or include on a compilation. What does one have to do with the other? Because Paul has a good ear for music, what makes you think he cannot consistenly hire excellent producers to produce for him? If it doesn't matter, why would Paul have producers sign that they will not tell anyone this? It clearly matters to him. I see what you are saying about a brand of quality, but why can't he just put together compilations with the original producer's names on the tracks? |

I cannot say, because i dont believe what you are saying is true, neither should you believe me. Because we dont really know for sure, in case of Sasha and Tiesto they do not hide how they work in the studio at all.
I does not matter who has made what, and artist name is a brand of something, it represents a style, a history and a sound of music.
All artists mentioned has a certain sound to them, good, bad it does not matter, if you go and buy a Ferrari, you dont go around wondering if Enzo Ferrari actually build the car, you just enjoy (or dont) the car.. this is how music works too. |
