People are forgetting that in 90% of mainstream commercial music all over the world, the artists responsible for writing/performing melodies, lyrics and the actual track in general have nothing to do with the production/studio work - it gets sent to third parties to be developed into a physical track. Almost all of the quoted artists (im my view) are either mainstream commercial or trying to be, Coincidence?? |
These commercial tunes you are speaking of have vocalists. Britney Spears doesn't write her own tunes, but she does sing and perform them, as do nearly every singer/songwriter.
They have producers to work on the tracks. What about the electronic "producer" who has another real producer do 100% of the work, and then takes full credit. Doesn't feel like the same thing, as the fake producer is doing nothing but spinning the track at clubs and building his/her career and ego. |

Because they are unaware. They like the Oakenfold sound. Oakenfold hires a solid team. |
what about when the director/producer is in studio with oakenfold for certain key scenes and they work together. This is quite common especially when the music directors are paid top dollar for their work. Do you how the process of post production works? or are you completely full of ? |

after reading all this from all these experts...
i just cant even come close to believing that, even after all this is said, tranceaddict still can't produce the industries most in-the-know, creative, most affluent, technically efficient, marketing genius, most popular, and "coolest" ing DJ ever.
... or at least a good manager / agent.
why is that? |
I was at your 'listening party' in NY, it was absolute rubbish. |

Haven't read through this whole thread cuz i don't have time and will have to do it tomorrow, but i just wanted to throw this out there (sorry if anyone already said this)
Kenneth Thomas does 100% of his own productions, 100%. Kenneth is a good friend of mine and I know for a fact that every solo production that has his name on it, is 100% his. :) |

They talk about it with the producer by his side. |

Hahahah... I know, and you will see other producers chiming in to let you know, Subtle. You seem upset to find out that some producers you might like don't actually produce their own tunes. |

Trance is a small genre, the sales compared to other genres are small, its not like its a multibillion industry.. pioneers like Oakenfold helped bringing the genre and music forward.
Still those "Ghost" producers you speak of would have been way better off, financially doing mainstream pop music.
Its not hard to make music you know, if you have the equipment.. anyone can do it if they really want to. |

It is like restaurants. Almost anyone could open up a restaurant, but as we all know, the difference between a great restaurant and a terrible one is night and day. Sure, anyone can play around with music software and hardware, but only a few can create melodies and productions that stand the test of time, and inspire us.
Most "producers" who have there name on tracks know how to produce. There are fewer who can pull a melody out of the air, and created a complete, club-ready production from it.
Some define being able to produce as completing an entire tune, whereas others feel producing is hiring ghost writers and perhaps giving some suggestions on the productions.
I have heard many with equipment try to make a cool sounding production, and they were never able to do it. Playing around and knowing how to produce, and actually producing a track are very different. |

You think that EDM is so big that there is an army of producers behind the scenes making music for almost every big DJ out there ?
There is one person who really knows what music THEY want to play as a DJ and that is only the DJs themselves.. if these so called ghost producers is as good at making music you think they wouldnt launch a career on their own, and get their name out there ? |

Oh dear Dog, you're still here. 28 pages and you still haven't produced a shadow of a smidgen of a shred of evidence for your claims. Once again, do off with your pretentious hearsay assery. |
