I does not matter who has made what, and artist name is a brand of something, it represents a style, a history and a sound of music.
All artists mentioned has a certain sound to them, good, bad it does not matter, if you go and buy a Ferrari, you dont go around wondering if Enzo Ferrari actually build the car, you just enjoy (or dont) the car.. this is how music works too. |
As I said, it may not matter to you or myself, but it does matter to Paul and many others who want the world to think they actually produce. |

I am in no way against Paul Oakenfold, but let's just say I have a very credible and direct contact who said it to be true. He also has nothing against Paul. |

Look at this discography on discogs.. he not producing music just does not make any sense, there are so much obscure old stuff there.
He may be doing less work these days, but uncapable of making music at all, thats just very unlikely. |

Right, but why can't a guy with a good ear for music hire solid producers to create his tunes? |

1. I have heard Tiesto doesn't know how to produce, but hires ghost producers.
2. I have heard that Josh Gabriel was the real producer of Gabriel and Dresden, and that Dave Dresden gave suggestions, but really doesn't know how to produce.
3. I have heard that Serge Devant hires producers to produce for him.
4. I have heard that Kenneth Thomas does not know how to produce, but hires producers to produce for him.
5. I have heard that Niklas Harding does not know how to produce, but hires others to produce for him.
6. I have heard that Paul Oakenfold makes his ghost writers sign contracts stipulating that that they may not tell anyone that they are producing for Oakenfold. I have also heard that Oakenfold cannot write a solid melody or physically produce a tune. Paul Oakenfold "composes for movies" but really hires a team to compose.
7. DJ Sasha has gives Charlie May credit for producing for him.
8. I have heard that Paul Van Dyk knows how to produce, but hires producers to produce for him, and doesn't actually produce himself.
9. I have heard DJ Kristina Sky doesn't know how to produce, but paired up with Randy Boyer because she felt she needed productions under her belt to further her DJing career.
10. Calderone and Reddick did not produce "Sound Of Flight", but had Tom Porcell of Funabashi produce their tune for them.

A top DJ with a good ear for music can hire a ghost to produce for him/her, and make some money by selling the tune, and use the track to forward his/her career. |

he doesn't need to forward his career/reputation. and you don't make much money from itunes/beatport |
