Madonna isn't a producer. She's a singer/front woman. The credits of the producers appear on her CDs, etc.

Here are the rumours I have heard repeatedly from different people: (again, I have heard, but cannot verify the veracity of these rumours without help from those who definitely know)
Nobody knows for sure, except for the producers in question.

Its always credited on the sleeve who produced the music, look around on discogs on these producers and you will see who is the producers.

Sasha has a whole team of producers, 4-5 people or something.

I mean dude, you actually believe that Andy Gray makes music for BT, you take the word from everyone who supports your case, use some common sense and look up the history of the producers, interviews or whatever you can find.. and you will see what makes sense and what doesnt.

Fei Fei and Benassi doesnt make music.. look up their history and youll see it makes sense.

Oakenfold hiring a team to do movie scores for him so he can get his name in the end credits of a movie ? i mean COMMON DUDE it does not make sense at all.

Its not some big hidden conspiracy, its just the general though that every producer should make their tracks 100% by themselves originating from the rising amount of bedroom producers pissed of that they have to endlessly tweak their tracks.

....you are not alone :p I'm mainly a fan of his older works.

Anyway the thread starter is prob some alt trying to start drama. People are inputing their knowledge and opinions but it seems that his source is obviously the best /sarcasm and he refuses to heed anyone else's comments which in conclusion...makes a pretty pointless thread.

Oh and yours aren't? ...oh I know someone who is a direct source that knows so and so and says this. Still second hand information and it means nothing. It's not like the artist will admit it one way or another and it's not like you have any concrete evidence.

I have solid producer contacts who have fed me much of the information who have worked directly with the "artists". Others are rumours that can and should be debated. Some of these I know to be true based upon the contacts who have told me. I noticed others have said they know of "producers" who don't know how to produce, but they have not added those names here.

I have heard from people who have worked with BT that his "own solo productions" don't sound anything like final productions. He knows how to produce, but he certainly gets loads of help.

Updates:

1. Tiesto produces 65% of his tunes, and then the producer, who he credits, finishes the tunes.
2. Dave Dresden is producing under his name, so even if he didn't know how to produce during his G&D days, he seems to have learned.
3. I have heard that Serge Devant hires producers to produce for him.
4. I have heard that Kenneth Thomas does not know how to produce, but hires producers to produce for him.
5. I have heard that Niklas Harding does not know how to produce, but hires others to produce for him.
6. I have heard that Paul Oakenfold makes his ghost writers sign contracts stipulating that that they may not tell anyone that they are producing for Oakenfold. Paul Oakenfold "composes for movies" but really hires a team to compose. He oversees producers.
7. DJ Sasha comes up with production concepts, and the Charlie May and other producers on his team execute. Charlie May nnd other producers are given credit for the productions.
8. I have heard that Paul Van Dyk knows how to produce, but hires producers to produce for him, and doesn't actually produce himself anymore. He does give credit to those who produce for him or help him produce.
9. I have heard DJ Kristina Sky doesn't know how to produce, but paired up with Randy Boyer because she felt she needed productions under her belt to further her DJing career.
10. Calderone and Reddick did not produce "Sound Of Flight", but had Tom Porcell of Funabashi produce their tune for them.
11. Martin Buttrich produces for Loco Dice
12. BT can produce, but gets substantial help with production elements from others. He gets Andy Page to write for him
13. Benny Bennassi gets his cousin Alle to produce his tunes. He's in the studio with Benny Bennassi. Benny sits around and does nothing while alle is on the computer putting everything together. He also states how they usually work in the studio: Benny checks on Alle every now and then to see how it sounds and gives input every now and then.
14. Vandit/Baroque signed "artist" Fei Fei is just a DJ, and hires a producer to produce for her.

To be honest, im trying to avoid getting dragged into this.

And, I do not have the time to really get into this debate. I will try to keep this quick.

I stand by my music. On SOME past projects, I have had studio engineers sit in with me for a short period of time. I bring someone in on maybe 30% of my tracks and again only for a short period of time. Usually its when I am in the middle of a really hectic tour schedule or am looking for a fresh perspective on a project. Now keep this in context, I will bring in say, a classically trained pianist and work TOGETHER (my hands on the computer and them sitting next to me) for maybe one hour on a track. And its not like they write something and I just take it. We write together and come up with ideas, chord progressions and such. And even then, rarely to those parts stay the same, I am always tweaking later and changing. Beyond that one hour, the other, say, 29 hours on a track I am working completely alone. The other 70% or so of my remixes/tracks are done 100% on my own.

What I find DISGUSTING is the absolute reckless disregard with this type of insinuations. Its like TMZ of dance music. Just making a list and compiling every RUMOR you've heard about so and so... Yea, thats what dance music is about?

Yes, at this point in the world of super-star dj 100 hour work weeks, most of these guys have some sort of engineer behind the scenes to help expedite certain process' or keep the creative juices flowing, but please learn to differentiate "help" with this term "ghost writer".

I could go on, but I have really spent too much time on this already. I need to go back to focusing on REALITY.

"I have heard that Kenneth Thomas does not know how to produce, but hires producers to produce for him" hahahaha... Yea, i take the MILLIONS in royalties off of Ghost in the Machine and have a team of producers living in my basement producing round the clock... As for not knowing how to produce, I could put you in touch with a few people who have hired me to teach them Logic...

Again, I stand by my music. I am proud of my tracks and passionate to see what the future brings.

Paul Van Dyk produces himself, he used to work with klimmek and another guy from mfs until the half of seven ways, he never hided it and it was pretty much known, but then started to produce and engineer the tracks by himself, of course some other guys come sometimes to help for certain parts but we are very far from studio partners ala Buttrich/May.
