It may be too early to tell but has the "Own The Podium" program been a success?
Right now it doesn't seem like it. We haven't done any better in the areas where we normally don't do well and I thought part of this program was to better are chances in these events. We have been terrible in cross country skiing, ski jumping, and biatholon. Without a substantial increase in medals from previous years I would say the program was just a great big waste of my tax dollars. |
I would probably have to agree with this at this point....so far pretty disappointed with our medal progress. Skiing has been a MASSIVE let down. |

I am with you guys on this. same with skating+snowboarding.... unbelievable. 2 of our silvers could have been gold easily with just a bit more work involved. especially the mens snoboard cross! f'n slacker! |

Canada did not have their legs tonight. But Brodeur was calm in net especially in the shootout, which was the best thing anyone could have hoped for. I knew Canada was going to win in the end, but it went to the bitter end with a battle between 2 good goaltenders.
Canada will have 2 days of work ahead of then until they play the US on Sunday which will be a great game for sure. I'm predicting Brodeur again in net against Miller. That 2nd goal by the Swiss was a lucky bounce of Marleau's skate. Other than that... the one slapshot that got by Brodeur was the only accountable fault.
We'll see how we fair against the US, but it doesn't get any easier. I hope to see more Crosby in the next game.
But Heatley!! No matter what team this kid plays for, no matter what attitude he has... he always scores goals!
BTW PRONGER.... stop taking dumb penalties when you dont have to!!!! |
