lol don't take it so seriously.

but you're dead wrong. they would've looked just as bad as the Americans did yesterday. I don't think you understand how high expectations were for them to win, especially after the massive disappointment in Turin.

Relax dude, itīs not your fault you have a tiny, permaflacid penis. If you keep your mouth shut and play your cards right, you MIGHT just marry an umpa lumpa of your own one day.

Perhaps the Russians' criticisms stem from the fact that they're next in line to host the winter games? Not that it's justified....but just a thought.

Do you understand how to count?

Let's compare:

Gold Medals:

Canada - 14
USA - 9
Winner: Canada

Silver Medals:

Canada - 7
USA - 15
Winner: USA

Bronze Medals:

Canada - 5
USA - 13
Winner: USA

Overall Medals:

Canada - 26
USA - 37
Winner: USA

Just because you got 5 more goal medals than us doesn't mean you "won" the entire Olympics. Take a look at the Silver and Bronze medal counts...we got more than twice of those than you in those categories. Overall is what really matters.

Under your logic, you would believe this hypothetical situation:

Country X wins 50 medals, 13 golds
Canada wins 20 medals, 14 golds

CANADA IS BETTER DOOD!!1111!111

If iīm not mistaken... In 2006 the Canadian menīs hockey team trashed the locker room after losing to Russia in the quarter-finals. Imagine what they would have done if theyīd lost the gold-medal game after LEADING 2-0.

If Overall is really what matters, what do you think people will remember the 2010 games for? USA being awarded the most medals, or Canada taking home the most Gold medals in the history of the games?
Keep thinking what you want, that's what defines you people anyway :p

Pfft, itīs no disgrace, just a bad decision by the women. In reality, no one in the world gives a , and the vast majority were actually amused to hear about it.

Thatīs no īdisgraceī.

And as for the medal-count. Gold is the most important deciding factor. A gold represents a win, while silver and bronze are just consolation prizes for LOSERS.

Afterall, Seinfeld, I think it was anyway, put it best. Second place is only the first loser.

The fact that Canada took home the most means absolutely nothing. Why? Because with the progression of Olympic athletes in the last decade or so (examples: Phelps, Ohno, Bolt, etc.), past records mean jack because they get broken so easily.

In four or eight years, when Canada's "most gold" record gets broken, do you think anyone will give a ? In the future do you think they will look back and say "oh well that Olympics is where Canada placed second in that record"?

Yes, and no. A silver or bronze medal is a recognition that's better than nothing in an event (Canada knows this pretty well...look at the USA/Canada comparison I made above).
FunkyCrew
as someone already said - noone is gonna look back and say "oh country X got so many medals in total in 2010", it's "in 2010, country X had the most gold medals"

it's all about:
a. Gold and
b. having the most gold EVER as a hosting country

on both counts we're the winner.
