I really wanted to be excited about these ceremonies but I gotta say, they were just OK...
With all the star power this country has, the best we can do is KD Lang!??
I like the fact that there was an aboriginal representation and the girl who sang the anthem was good, I really liked the beginning segment and the dude who talked abou what it meant to be Canadian. Other than that, kinda vanilla. The choreography was messy and scattered at times and the music is sooo boring!! Why not bring in a big name DJ for at least one number..
The opera singer made me want to pull my hair out and the dude from Quebec..lame.
Other than that..i felt really proud to be a Canadian and it was nice to see us on the world stage.
My husband and I loved the technical difficulties..probably the funniest of the night..
ps. I was hoping to see Buble all night..
WTF was up wiht not even acknowledging the Iranian team? Seems really ty..

i thought the same ... the native bs was overkill
then again wtf else are they supposed to show? what is canadian culture anyways? tbh id argue that canada is void of any ... oh well

No longer Canadian....now an Italian...becoming a citizen out of love for his grandfather or great grandfather.
We have neither the exorbitant budget or 15,000 people to run around the stage as a bunch of street fighter characters for slave wages; as was the case in China. Nor did we inject fake fireworks, lipsink swapped children or $100 million american dollars.
We are on a budget, as the whole world is now.
This was a stunning embodiment of the subtlety of our nation. We are proud, in difference, and are prone to share, not force that which we are proud of.
KD Lang, the Joni Mitchell Song, the poetry and the Whale Sequence were incredible. And perfect.
Sad this didn't feel right for some Canadians.

The whole ceremony felt like a freaking funeral.
Depressing,no energy..no way to start off the olympics.
Maybe they should of made this as a fund raiser for Haiti.

oooooh, thank God there was no kosovo. thank God !!!!
Ya, they could have devoted some more time to some countries. I know what you mean. But what's been done has been done. I am Iranian, but what can i do. I am sure others would have wanted the camera on their country a little longer.
