The best thing I heard all day, heard while on my way to watch the game, said by some stranger walking down the street was
"Is there some sort of event going on today?"
:haha: |

Well, then. Since you're in this sort of mood.
Allow me to say something slowly: you are an overweight umpa luma. So please don't talk about athletes. You know nothing of athleticism--walking to and from Mc Donalands doesn't make you an athlete.
It's not your fault that the men lost.
It's not your fault that the women lost.
It's not your fault that people like us Canadians better.
And finally, it's not your fault that you're fat. But you have to understand fatty, that Crosby is teh ; and dem American hoes' be bitter!
Speaking of fat people. I love how Mc Donalands is the 'official restaurant of the Olympics.' I especially enjoy the ads where they show Olympians eating that .
:haha:

I think our American friends in this thread should just let us enjoy our moment of glory..:) Maybe it's not the safest thread to for US pride...
ps. Crosby doesn't do push up. He does earth downs.
bahahaha..funy stuff..

pls. uncalled for and I'll apologize on behalf of Canadians, we have gotten a little out of control and don't know how to handle ourselves.
Sorry |
its all good sweetheart, I take zero offense when people run out of intelligent things to say and, to cover for it, make a failed attempt at insulting instead. Unfortunately for him, he looks like a bigger idiot than anyone ;) :) You guys rock and I would never put "All Canadians" and this dude in the same category...I know better ;)

one of the few times I agree with you in this thread :p
U.S. was upset at losing in overtime, especially after scoring late after pulling the goalie. If it were a 5-2 game you would have seen far different expressons for sure. The rollercoaster of emotions would get to anyone.
Yankeeboobie had some good arguments in this thread, unfortunately peppered with too many eye-rolling-at-others comments.
You can effectively convey your arguments without the hypersensitivity rants about others being hypersensitive :p
As for Evil Cookie's debating skills.. well....:p |
haha true, ok ok I get what you are saying. I came out wrong, but, as I used to "live" up there, I often debate both sides in defense of two places I care for.
This is not a political statement by any means: I love when things like last night happen and Canada truly appreciates that they have an amazing country with great people! It happens WAY too often that I hear some Canadians spend more energy on what the US is doing as opposed to concentrating on what they have themselves :) You have a great thing going on up there, why waste energy?
Of course the game itself left a bitter taste for me, but, as a person with strong ties to Canada, I could not be more proud of your country as a whole last night :) And thus, my frustration (not sensitivity) to the endless negative energy to what everybody else is doing. Its just silly and a waste of time, becuase it wont change anything.
Sorry for the rolled eyes, but I ended up wasting my OWN time in these debates, playing both sides of the fence, and I think the burned American flag pic and the personal digs comment was worthy of those faces ;) :)
Congrats to Canada and a job well done :) :) |

anyways i'm glad I was wrong. hopefully this successful run in the olympics (a direct result of funding) will continue to not only olympic sports but other sporting programs as well. would be nice to see a canadian team in the world cup, and a competitive national basketball program. |

Seriously, dude, not this convo again! Its over!
usa: more total medals,
Canada: more gold medals.
BOTH countries won the most medals in winter olympic histories for their respective countries!! Thats pretty f*cking awesome IMO. :) :)
Whats with Russia, those damn people will NOT stop talking about the way these Olympics were run! Articles all over the news today! :nervous: :wtf:

I already said that - we would have accepted that silver with a smile - sad smile if anything
that's how much faith I have in Canucks! |
you're retarded if you think those guys would accept it with a smile. anything less than gold would've been a massive disappointment, especially if we lost to the US.
edit: according to the BBC we're ranked number 1 for medal standings since we have the most golds. US was 4th I think. |

um I'm expecting an appology for this crap - what is this with insults today?!
all I'm saying is that I expected Canada to accept a silver with dignity, that is all. |

major riot control would have been needed in the streets. esp with the game being tied with little time left and then losing in over time. major jab in the heart for manyyyy |
